Hello again!
Is it some how possible to assign the parameter "knobs" in the MUX to SYSEX commands or get them to send midi cc?
This might be a stupid question and it even not be clear what i mean or what im after.
I would like to know if i can make controllers for my hardware synths.
For example the Crumar BIT99 want both sysex and midi cc.

It would be an fantastic feature that i would use a lot.

No, MuLab 4 does not support sysex, sorry.

Is it hard to implement?

That's not the only question. Another one is: How many users want it? Bottomline is that i also must take care about the economic side of things, otherwise i'm killing the project. Something like REX support certainly has more priority than sysex, which becomes more and more unused, imho.

What are you basing this assumption on?
In my own experience I'm working with sysex more and more. And people are nowdays turning their attention towards analog synths. For their efficient control sysex is a must.

But ofcourse, it can be done with a 3rd party plugin too :)

Because:

* Over the past years i only got a couple of requests about sysex.

* I rarely see posts / news / ... about sysex on the fora.

* The world more and more evolves towards tools that deliver fast and instant results. You can't call sysex something quick and easy.

I'm not saying this with disrespect. I've used sysex myself a lot in the past while making music myself. I'm just saying that, as an indie developer, sysex is not something that is requested a lot and so it's not something i should prioritize on the wishlist. There is a hard economic battle out there and i must carefully choose what to do and what not.

If it would become clear that, as you say, sysex is getting revivaled due to increased use of analog gear, i'll be happy to add sysex dump support i.e. receive+send sysex dumps, store+manage them within the session.

I'm not sure if the use of analog gear is indeed growing faster than making music in an integrated 'virtual' studio environment with the big advantage of easy total recall. It's an interesting question.

Ok, no Sysex then.
No probs.
