it seems that all the House big commerical house tunes are just sounding the same, very generic. I admit i did like it when i first started to hear it, I was always a big trance fan and the molodies were really nice in these new tunes. But trance is now sounding the same as house and the whole use of the word EDM is like a new buzz word.
When you hear the word electronic dance music, what does it mean to you?
For me its a generic term to represent all dance music styles under one umbrella term, without really identifying or defining anything at all.
But for some in the popular music industry it seems that EDM is used as a buzz word to represent the sound of current popular music trends where electro house from the likes of David Guetta, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris is fused with the sounds of commercial r&b and hip hop (I.e Black Eyed Peas / Rhianna etc etc. The new popular sound of R&B has undeniably many influences from the dance music industry with fusions of house, trance, techno, dubstep, drum and bass and oldksool hardcore rave sounds. People seem to be using the term EDM to try to describe actual specific artists or the style/sound of their popular records, which in turn seems to pigeon hole the multitude of other EDM styles that are out there.

I think there still is great bigroom tracks, just not so often.. ofcourse there won't be a really great track every day but i can still find at least 3 tracks that i like every month.
This kind of music scene is pretty messed up though also same with trance it seems, a lot of copying and fake guys.. which is sad but u can always listen to other kind of music

I prefer oldskool house, dirtier sound and deeper. Everything is so hyped up soundwise nowadays, very generic .. Bring back some dirt and not everything has to be perfect
