A new MUX Vst 1.1.0 package is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/cedar

What's changed since version 1.0.38:

New
  • New Note Key/Vel Filter module.
  • New Bit Reducer module.
  • New Samplerate Reducer module.
Tuned
  • The "SetChunkMustCallUpdateDispay" preference now defaults to 1 so this feature is active by default.
  • Text string editors: Shift+Home selects from start to cursor, Shift+End selects from cursor to end.
  • "Audio To Note Gate" renamed to "Audio Envelope Follower" and includes a modulation output.
  • Finetuned the "Manage Audio/Sample Files" function.
  • File path editors are much wider by default so to display more of longer file paths.
  • Fixed/Tuned: By default VST parameter values are shown as % values, no mixed situations anymore.
  • More relaxed checking of the user key e.g. line breaks in the key are filtered out.
  • Event Monitor now has a "Clear" context function.
  • Tweaked several aspects in the UI.
  • Finetuned an UI detail in the parameter drag-drop system.
  • Finetuned a detail in the module parameter handling resulting in even smoother parameter slides via UI or automation.
  • All windows now properly do maximize/restore. So after a maximize you can restore to the previous position/size.
  • Double-clicking a window title bar also does maximize/restore.
Fixed
  • Fixed a bug which could cause different kinds of problems in the 64 bit version.
  • Improved MIDI input controller support.
  • Fixed a little bug that caused an improper focus box in some situations.
  • Audio Envelope Follower now properly saves Key and Velocity properties.
  • Fixed a little bug in the object naming system.
  • Fixed: UI splitters didn't show a hand cursor anymore.
  • When editing a parameter mapping, Cancel did not restore the original values.
  • Fixed a bug in the parameter modulation system which caused individual modulations to be unintendedly bound to the [-100% - +100%] range.

The new MUX Vst 1.2.0 patch is available in http://www.mutools.com/mux/cedar

What's changed since version 1.1.0:
  • New: Modulation Monitor
  • You can now copy-paste selections of audio files/samples directly into an oscillator.
  • Waveform -> "Open" now previews the audio files while browsing.
  • In some cases "Show Clipboard Contents" didn't show the most detailed info.
  • OSX: When doing "Move To Top-Left" for a window, the apple title bar now is taken into account.
  • Fixed a bug when using parent modulation towards the PolySynth.
  • Fixed a bug wrt using VST synths in a MUX, then such saved MUX preset was not categorized as an instrument preset.
Installation:

* Make sure you have installed MUX Vst 1.1.0, see start of this topic.
* Download the new patch zip for your platform.
* Extract the new DLL files and copy it into your MUX Vst 1.1.0 folder, replacing the previous MUX.dll and MUX (Vst Synth).dll.

It says in the KvR announcement that "MuTools has updated MUX, the flexible modular synth and effect VST plug-in for Windows and Mac OS X, to version 1.2.0" but I can't see where to download a demo of the Mac version on your site..

That's something the Kvr admin added. No MUX Vst OSX version yet. I've emailed Kvr.

If i save a mux without an instrument in (ie event + audio input, mixer strip and audio output) then it won't show up on the "Add instrument track" -> "Mutools".

I've tried to add a vst and save - it shows up on the list. If i remove the vst and save - it's gone.

I wan't to have an initialized mux there for fast muxing :) Maybe it's to make sure that only "real" mux instruments show up and not effects?

Yes indeed. A MUX preset is tagged as an instrument when it contains an instrument i.e. a VST synth or a PolySynth.

That's a pity - I was hoping it was out

After working on a Multi-Point Envelope I saved the preset. I was working in MuLab, not the MUX VST.
Then I open the MUX in S1 but the Multi-Point Envelope in the MUX VST could not loaded that preset created in the MuLab environment.
It seems to have the same file extension of a MUX based Multi-Point Envelope saved preset.

In other words, I can not load any preset in the MUX VST modules unless there were created by a MUX VST and not within MuLab.
Is that correct? It seems strange.

Was it a mux you created in mulab or were you using the session view?

I think i noticed a similar issue a long time ago but i haven't encountered it again ... not sure what i did either... IF that's any comfort

Are you using the latest versions of MuLab and MUX?

Ar you talking about a MUX preset or a multi-point envelope preset?

Post

Yes, multi point preset.
Yes latest MuLab
MUX, maybe not. I'll check

Just double-checked it here using M4.5.1 and MUX 1.2.0 and exchanging .Mudulator files works fine in both directions.

Muxwise, what is the planned future for now? I'd love to see more ways to affect the look of them, ie faders and buttons. To go really advanced, Orion lets you reskin the mixer among many things with custom animations etc. This way you could really make a great looking custom mixer!
I know there's other features with higher priorities like multi-core and ... no, that's it, isn't it? :)
