I have been doing research on Zebra2 and I found many people saying that it can do anything with its vast collection of choices and opportunities. But the question I have for this plugin (which I am convinced is more advanced than Native Instruments' Absynth 5) is "Can it do everything?" By anything, I mean an erhu, a santur, bagpipes, a pipe organ; how about a theater organ? A Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ? If this plugin can make any sound in the world, I am convinced that it won't take too much strenuous work to imitate the heavenly sounds of such a prized instrument.
I have yet to buy Zebra2 myself and experiment; I am awaiting my next monthly paycheck. So, I challenge you Zebra2 users to attempt modeling the sounds of the Mighty Wurlitzer. You can try modeling the registers you would normally find on this instrument (one patch per register), but I also encourage you to come up with registers of your own devising. Your imagination is your most valuable tool in this challenge. Then, I would like you to upload audio samples of your patches to the forum thread. I would love to hear what wondrous sounds you can make, and I'm sure others would too.
Before you get started, I recommend listening to a REAL Mighty Wurlitzer to get the idea of what it sounds like. You can find lots of videos of music being played on this organ on Youtube. I would also recommend listening to the late Stan Kann play it. He was really good at making the organ sing like a choir.
So, model the registers of a Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ or create your own, and upload audio samples of your patches for me and others to hear. Good luck everyone. 1 2 3 Break!

I have good news for you -- Zebra has one of the most liberal demo restrictions (IMO) on the market today. The only thing it does is after about 15 mins or so the notes begin to wander. The public download link is the full version with the complete factory sound bank. You can also load (and save!!) any preset a full-blown user can do. And when you decide to purchase it you don't have to re-install anything -- just put your serial number into the ui and reload.KForte90 wrote:I have yet to buy Zebra2 myself and experiment; I am awaiting my next monthly paycheck.
And coming back to "everything" -- You will definitely want to explore the factory soundbank. Howard has made several traditional synth and non-traditional synth sounds. There are tons of organs, EPs, acoustic drums, shakers, etc. It's definitely not a trance/dubstep affair (not that Zebra doesn't do well there either!).
And if you're feeling adventerous you can download and try any patch from here:

If you're willing to invest the time exploring you'll likely find several presets that suit your tastes or require a little tweaking to get you there...
