  • Insert a MUX, use e.g. "Basic Effect" as a start template.
  • Open the MUX deep editor.
  • Options -> New Patch, then delete audio input and event output modules, as we don't need them here.
  • Insert the arp.
  • Connect the "Event Input" module to the arp event input (blue).
  • Insert Groove Agent.
  • Connect the blue event output of the arp to the blue event input of GA.
  • Connect the red audio output of GA to the "Audio Output" module.

Thanks for your reply, but I need to use an arp only on a seperate channel/pad with a channel loaded.. for example.. This is what I do

1 - Open Groove Agent One as a vst
2 - Create various midi channels in groove agent one
3 - Set the output of the selected pad to one of the midi tracks.. this causes that specific sample to have its own Midi track
4- On the selected midi track, where the selected pad is routed to, I insert the MUX

^^On this selecteted midi channel I would like to have the arp.. Only on this channel/pad.. Can you help?
Work Hard.

I'm not a Cubase/GA expert. Are you sure this is a question about MUX and not about Cubase/GA? If so then what is it in MUX that you don't find/understand?

I add mux as an effect on a selected pad in my drum sampler.. I need mux to route my arp to the selected pad/channel..I need the arp on that specific pad, this is what I purchased mux for.
Work Hard.

I'm afraid i don't understand what is your very question. What's not working then? I'm willing to help with the MUX where possible but need some more clear info from you. Please elaborate.

I load a vst drum sampler in cubase. There are 16 pads/channels like an mpc in the vst. On each pad, I create a midi track so I'm able to add an effect to that specific pad. I load MUX, as an effect to this midi track for the selected pad. If I go through the presets in MUX, I can hear the sample being effected with the selected effect, such as reverb, delay, and so forth. So, I'm thinking I can get the arp to work here through the module setup. I go to the module setup, I add the arp vst.. I try to connect various wires inside the Mux Modular setup, but its a fail everytime..

The arp is a "Midi" arp, so i'm not sure if I have to specify the proper outputs in the arp vst within mux..
Work Hard.

It sounds to me that what you want/need to do is to insert an arp before the GA pad. Because the order is:

1) send events to pad
2) pad outputs drum audio

If you insert an event effect (like an arp) after the pad, it won't work indeed.

Try the following:

1) Create the MUX in the Cubase Instrument rack. You will have to create a MUX Synth, but you can directly change the "Basic Synth" to the "Basic Effect" patch.
2) Create the 16 Cubase Midi tracks, set midi channel for each track to 1 ... 16, route all of them to MUX
3) in the MUX, create a Midi Channel Splitter and connect it to Event Input.
4) now create your ARPs for each midi channel you need to and connect each channel of the midi splitter to the respective ARP.

Now you are stuck, as Groove Agent ONE is a VST3, which you can't load into a MUX.

I'm not a recent Cubase user, but if you find a way to send Midi from an instrument in the Cubase Instrument rack to an Cubase instrument, you can do:

5) connect all the ARP midi outs to Event Output and set it to the Instrument.

If that is mot possible, use any VST 2.4 instead and route the ARPs to Event In on this VST.
