I have an Alesis IO Dock, it takes care of Midi+Audio+Power.
CCK+Midi Interface -> only Midi
Line6 MM II -> only Midi
IK iRig Midi -> Midi+Power (cheaper than iconnectmidi, but less features)
IO Dock -> Midi+Audio+Power (I think there are alternatives, maybe the Tascam interfaces?)

thanks, im gonna order the io dock, i take it that it wont require the ckk?

Nope

Only downside to the IO Dock: no sysex support (yet?)

And it won't work with the 4th gen. iPad - but it's the same for any other hardware out there...

Also, I don't know if the IO Docks currently shipping have the 3th gen. adapter included as standard (https://www.alesis.com/ipadadapter?&wtst=244 )

hmm yes luckily i googled it before i continued with the purchase, seems like it doesnt work on all ipad 3's and im probably buying the ipad 4, guess i'll haveto hold off for a bit.

You can use the dock with an extension chord, find it even better this way. Not sure if it will work with the ipad4 and an adapter, but it's fine with the ipad3.

Nah i dont like the idea of having it outside the doc really.

Seems like Thomann is getting a new shipment next month, i bet they will be ipad3 ready.. still dont know if i should get the ipad4, hmm, dont really need more cpu speed hehe
