Whoa you are right! I am fan of the newish PPG Wave v3 plug-in, I even bought it when it came out. But when I hear the real hw side by side like this it makes me sad how much warmer it soundsbmanic wrote: If you can't hear the incredibly obvious difference between the hardware and software in that very clip then I'm afraid you need a bit more practice, better monitoring or hearing implants.

The poll is lacking one important alternative: Sequential Prophet VS!
IMSBHO, of course…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Can someone please offer some sound examples showcasing the different synths? A track, a demo .. anything

Here's a bit of the stuff we have around, but not many from the list yet... (more in part two)Crackbaby wrote:Can someone please offer some sound examples showcasing the different synths? A track, a demo .. anything

Noticed that video has the lead from http://www.u-he.com/diva/songs/HowardSc ... e_Diva.mp3 - probably patched differently [e: and transposed, etc] but, delicious both in the hardware and Diva IMO

Nice timing Urs
I think i speak for most of us that you don't need to emulate the upside down sliders

I've always been of the assumption that this was what Zebra does. Seamless morphing of user definable shapes and two further dimensions of morphing patterns with the OscFXgoldenanalog wrote:Urs: 'wave sequencing' without the discontinuity...
Do CPU's have enough DSP to handle morphing oscillators, where a waveform can continously change shape over time versus following the PPG model where you use 128 waveforms lined up in succession in a wave sequence?
That I don't believe has been done before in multiple. Singularly, yes, but not where the user could select from several morph patterns, if you will.
Imagine being able to morph an osc from moog characteristics to roland characteristics etc. just as one crude example.

This of course implies that there would be inherent animation in any waveform; then to modulate it-force it to travel along a path where it's characteristics are changed from one that's moog centric to one that's ARP centric (ex) - you could imagine the possibilities depending on the accuracy of your model what an arp-moog or roland-arp osc might sound like....
And then there are the filters-imagine if you could morph filter characteristics over time...you have the potential to create a new class of synthesis, dependent on the depth and accuracy of your modeling.
Nice collection, btw. You obviously love your machines a great deal.
I hope that your wife doesn't get too jealous of them; there are some real beauties...

Here is a CS-80 video. Vangelis is famous for using one in "Chariots of Fire", but this video is not Vangelis:

Do Moog, Arp, or Roland oscillator waveforms have identifiable personalities?goldenanalog wrote:an individual waveform by itself that has 'embedded' the personality of a moog or arp or roland waveform w/o ANY modulation.
