Well I didn't vote, as I really have no experiences with any of the DASH or NUSofting products.

Also I haven't heard a lot of your brands, or you personally. I did notice the presence of William on this board though, seemingly a friendly and popular chap. He seemed to be starting a lot of projects / businesses lately, which to me as an "outsider" looked a bit like he desperately needed to make money.

Anyway, I just wanted to say good luck, and remind you that every change, and every new beginning, is also a big chance for fortune. ;)

In that sense, I want to wish you good luck! ;)

Best,
Stefan

i bought the bundle mainly for knagalis, but then fell in love with eve. the va stuff i found a bit ho-hum and never use. and abstract guitar is woeful (for me - i'm sure many people love it).

i never liked the dash name. but nusoft is very generic and boring. i'd go for something new. there is no harm in losing the dash name - as has already been said it has suffered a bit from some hit and miss ideas.

i'd also change the name when i had a new product to release, so that becomes the flagship of the new launch.

i do not know who did what in the old team, so my answer was wait and see.

many thanks Stefan for the wishes, <grin>

about the name I think a bit like WhyteRabbyt,

regardless the name be nice or boring, it's hard to get some recognition, visibilty

Dash both in good or bad way, has got some,

so a slow transition maybe is the best (?)

Post

reading this and thinking more on it ...

... perhaps a new name WOULD be better but as whyterabbyt says keep some indicators of the product heritage for at least a transitional period (the DASH name might have some inconsistent connotations but i dont think many people would doubt the quality of the stuff both you and william have produced) ...

... just to get you started (and to get the cheesy suggestions out of the way) how about ...

I would not create a new name – it would be like starting a new business and that takes time to establish. NUSofting is a good sounding name and does not carry the same burden as in the DASH history.

I would drop DASH and the Signature and push hard on the name NUSofting.

Slow transition well – that’s muddy water. I would go Nusofting and make a press announcement that NUSofting has engulfed the product line of DASH Signature. And make sure as many people get to hear about it in as many different ways that you can think of – forums – websites – your site etc.

You could do a little logo of a PacMan eating DASH and becoming a Stronger NUSOFTThing :O) that’s a joke by the way – Keep the NUSofting name

I'd keep the DASH for the time being - It's a well established "brand" whearas NuSofting is not.

If anything what I would do if it was me is drop the Signature bit - it's more recently added and means less - and then append something that indicates future directions.

For example:

DASH Phoenix (to bring in Rob's idea)

or along similar lines:

DASH Revival

thanks for the honest opinion, <grin>

It seems to me that your work in DashSignature has
been more the emulation-of-real-intruments-side. :?
ehm, no, sorry, <grin>

daAlfa2k and LeSax were designed by William,
all the others by me,

then we splited the implementations by individual skills,

or DASH Viva

or DASH Spirit

or even MicroDASH :D

(that was a joke btw)

I would keep the DashSignature name. The only people you would be trying to fool are the same people who already know the history and would know about the change. There are several magazines already covering the dash stuff and therefore, I think you should keep it to not give a bad impression to new customers. I think you should bring the NuSofting plugins over to DashSignature.

Phil.

No, make that DASH Diva - that'd be cool! :)

Btw. I also would rather drop the NUSofting brand. To me the name just won't sound attractive, no matter how often I repeat it. *g*

I really liked "DASH Synthesis" and did not understand why it was changed to "DASH Signature". I thought it's just a "sign o' the time" to release Instruments with signatures of some (supposedly) famous people on them (you never really heard about before). :D

I'm talking strictly about how the names sound to me (a person who has little-to-no knowledge what the name is about / stands for quality wise).

Best,
