The forum is just closed. It had a massive spam attack a few days ago, and no, it was NOT the official forum (Dennis has wrongly used that, there was a discussion about it).
SM Pro still seems to be producing V-Machines, but this was not a forum led by them. They just provided the domain, nothing else.

well, close to dead. i know they still make the hardware but without an active forum for support its far less attractive.

So this means we probably can forget about the cpu upgrade finally, but I still can't understand it since they had working samples three years ago. All I would expect from sm pro audio is a clear "there will be no cpu upgrade because of this and that", but I can't hear anymore the bla bla like "news about the cpu upgrade will be posted closer to the release date on our website" (which is as slow that it hardly can be navigated) which they keep saying since 3 years.

at the beginning of this is an example of using 2 v-machines to do 4 channels of auto-tune (using the free gsnap) on live vocals on the song "ive got a feelin":
https://soundcloud.com/tonyostinato/jjhillset3
theres one gsnap per channel, 2 channels panned hard right and left on both ins and outs.
theres also a spitfish de-esser before the gsnaps but theyre not set to do very much.

Plenty of new 500 series modules and housing cases from sm pro audio at namm 2013, but not a single word about a cpu upgrade for the V-Machine. So they seem to have the ressources and the time to develop plenty of new stuff nobody needs in just one year while they don't manage to provide a cpu upgrade for the V-Machine within 4 years. To me this means they finally have dropped it. At least good to know.
