MFM2 was crashing on me using Live 9 Beta (32-Bit) and Windows 8 Pro (64-Bit). Specifically, it crashes when you attempt to hide the plug-in window (the error message states that it cannot save the UIPreferences.txt).
This is partly a Windows 8 problem, as even with UAC turned off, Admin accounts don't have full admin privileges in many cases. It's annoying as hell, and apparently a lot of software needs to be updated to support this (I've been having troubles with Dropbox and Steam as well).
As a temporary workaround, if you right click on your Live's exe file and run it as an administrator, the crash no longer occurs.
Urs, is there any way to fix this on your end?
Thanks,
Michael

I think, as always, MFM2.data has to be in C:/Users/You/Documents/ - it just needs to be writable
On a positive note, we're more and more replacing crashable file access with warnings and recipes for workarounds.
I think a Win8 license is on the way and we'll adapt soonishly...
