I will be selling my copy of Cubase6.5 I will not be upgrading anymore. I am happy with Sudio one 2.5 for now.

Yep - I am (soon to be 'was")a longtime Nuendo fan - and while v6 does look interesting - I have moved my operations over to Studio One - and the Steinberg train has come to a halt for me...

I wish them good luck but there are other much better options now.

Recently switched from Elements 6 to S1 Producer and I am happy. That is some BS that they release the product before it's ready. They should've just waited.

It's BS to think that the program isn't ready. It's working fine for a huge majority. There are always a few % who would have problems finding heads if you handed them a penny tails side up. And, there is another few % who just are unlucky with some flakey hardware/software combination.

For the huge majority? Then why did the orginal poster start this thread? Go over to the cubase forum on steinberg's website and see if the majority are not having issues.

Not to mention a very large segment of buyers who never go to the forums and are having major issues.

This is one phenom that is so easily remedied. Simply wait until the first maintenance release.

I am even taking my own advice with Studio One. Whilst most folks are generally proclaiming "awesomeness"...I am still seeing enough reasons not to jump to 2.5.0 yet.

But as soon as 2.5.1 gets out there - I will be in...

Completely different (and free) animal.

S1 will easily run multiple concurrent version installs and not share much but some basic non-critical XML config files. Just install it to a different directory like \Program Files\Studio One 25\.

If you have any concern about the XML config files, just backup your AppData\PreSonus\Studio One 2 folder. You can wipe it all out and install 2.07 fresh at any time in like, 2 minutes. Like Reaper, it doesn't do much of anything to the Win registry but associate some file types.

I have both installed on both my systems, 2.07 and 2.5.

i don't mean to whine and complain. i mostly just wanted to let people know what was going on with the first day purchases. if someone ahead of me had said that the download took 3 hours and then it BSODs Win 7 upon failing then i might not have gone ahead.

true - there are lots of people able to use it on steinberg.net - i just wanted to put it in proper perspective - i thought that i would be up and learning it by today, but guess again...

Noted. But again - I am in no rush and while I know it's an option - I don't have the time or inclination to want/need multiple installs etc.

Got work to do over here - not testing

Will just wait until 2.5 gets that final buff and polish with an upcoming maintenance refresh and go from there.

Anyone tried the Mac version yet? Just curious if it's as crippled as the Windows version... almost bought artist just to get in on the V7 craze. Ha!

Most if not all crashes involve user error in some way.....(e.g to many system tweaks, graphics, under par hardware components, running this & that service, unstable plugins etc,...anything with wrappers etc.

Out of the box Cubase is pretty much error free other than the few things mentioned already on there website.

Rock solid for me!

When Cubase7 was anounced I changed to REAPER and this tourned out to be a great idea as Reaper is by far the better product for my needs as I know now.

The reason for me to leave Cubase?: I purchased Cubase Artist 6 just one year ago for about 250 euro. Now the update to Cubase Artist7 would cost me 150 euro once again. Let's compare this to comercial standard software in the business domain. If you buy SAP software you will have to pay an annual maintainance fee of 18 percent of the original license fee in order to get maintainance support and release upgrades. Even business companies are complaining about this as beeing a lot of money. But Steinberg wants me to pay 60% of the initial license fee (!) after 1 year in oder to get the release update. That's insane.

For me it crashes as soon as I load any VST from the VST Instrument panel.
