But is it likely that all the members only used one slot - and in most cases, not even the top (5 votes) one?harryupbabble wrote:It's possible some members did not use all 5 slots.Syntilla wrote:If the numbers are correct, out of the 15 votes available to each member, the average member only cast 3.6 votes.
Someone please check my arithmetic.
And if I'm right - what was going on?
That would at least explain the numbers.

Well if you ask me I'll put it straight, I was just thinking that everyone involved could get some consideration, even the last one classified. I respect anyone, even people that put nude girls in VST backgrounds, I guess it's not an elegant move to ignore developers below the podium and I am realing wondering about my class, I was hoping something like 12-15thbut I can't verify because of an annoying "winning-mentality", that's all..akira wrote:@Acrobat

How is a 'winning-mentality' any more annoying than a 'ranking-mentality'? Aren't they the same thing?Acrobat wrote: I was hoping something like 12-15th but I can't verify because of an annoying "winning-mentality", that's all..

First question: yes it is more annoying.Syntilla wrote:How is a 'winning-mentality' any more annoying than a 'ranking-mentality'? Aren't they the same thing?Acrobat wrote: I was hoping something like 12-15th but I can't verify because of an annoying "winning-mentality", that's all..
Second question: evidently not the same thing.

The first question was 'how'.Acrobat wrote:First question: yes it is more annoying.Syntilla wrote:How is a 'winning-mentality' any more annoying than a 'ranking-mentality'? The second question clearly indicates that it wasn't 'evident'.

To put it another way, those who just start developing software need every possible way to get feedback on their work, and the amount of votes given is indeed a valuable one.

Absolutely. But 'number of votes' and 'ranking' are not the same thing.AXP wrote:To put it another way, those who just start developing software need every possible way to get feedback on their work, and the amount of votes given is indeed a valuable one.

Nearly made the top 40 there!GaryG wrote:Awww, crap...Ben [KVR] wrote:They are displayed in order.
The bottom 2 came from the same developer. The manual wasn't in English. They were a little on the small side for most screens.
And may well be among the most useful contributions this year (at least as far as I'm concerned). If I can figure out how to use them ... Their site is bookmarked.
The 'real' winners are not yet known!
Hang in there GaryG. As they used to say about the Lottery: It could be you!
