I'm interested in being able to work with wavetables in Zebra as well.
waves break, but somehow it all makes sense.

Zebra has always had a wavetable editor, even in V1.0 - we're not going to drop this, but I think we're going to improve upon it.

That's right, I'm happy to hear that there will be improvements, perhaps loading user waves into the waveslots?Urs wrote:Zebra has always had a wavetable editor, even in V1.0 - we're not going to drop this, but I think we're going to improve upon it.

I don't own Zebra yet (but use Diva intensively everyday) so please forgive my naive question : would Zebra 3 benefit from a Divine (or similar high quality) mode ?

Would like to know this too.Taoist wrote:Im guessing that since Zebra 3 will not necessarily include the same filters that Zebra HZ contains, that anyone who owns Zebra HZ will maintain access to the Dark Zebra filters even after upgrading to Zebra 3?

The way I figured it's gonna be exactly like that - Z3 won't be 100% compatible with Z2 and Zebra HZ, and you'll be able to install it side by side with Z2.

Yes. That's how it's going to be.EvilDragon wrote:The way I figured it's gonna be exactly like that - Z3 won't be 100% compatible with Z2 and Zebra HZ, and you'll be able to install it side by side with Z2.
We'll also not just drop Zebra2 and ZebraHZ off the grid. They'll be alive for years to come, and we're even considering to keep The Dark Zebra on sale with a rather attractive upgrade/downgrade path from and to Zebra3.

I wonder if there will be a distortion and phaser section like a Virus.
I may have mentioned that before. Maybe.

I'd be very surprised (and saddened) if that didn't happen...zvenx wrote:great news, and for those of us who don't program patches, is Howard et al working on new patches for Z3?

I am sure it is happening.....just for me it would be nice to happen at official launch....although I am sure many would prefer that the launch not be delayed for that purpose (not that I have any info that it might be)

Well, Howard will certainly be the first to use the new stuff. Once it emerges.
Developmentwise we're still working on that big maintenance update that was supposed to surface a few months ago. It's embarassing how much stuff has piled up unresolved over the years. Some things needed quite a bit of a touch up... I do think we're rather good to go though, with a few minor fixes here and there.
Most of the work that went into Z3 so far is of conceptual nature, and a few implementations here and there.

I'm wondering if Preset management will be changed for Z3. I quite like the ability in Curve to hit a button and be able to upload a preset or download a preset with all included metadata (user votes, patch notes, author). It sure beats unzipping 40-50 archives and manually placing them in a directory.
