Hmm.. well I have to suggest that maybe you're "hearing" the GUI or something. It's FM synthesis, so it's not like we're talking analog modeling here.. although there are the filters. The filters in these 2 plugins are comparable in quality. It's the user interface that makes sytrus wonderful. The way modulation works in it is unique and wonderful. I don't have time to spell it all out for you, but I'm very confident that it doesnt "sound like complete crap".

I'll chime in and say that for a bread and butter subtractive, I still think Sawer is one of the best on the market. Limited, but sounds great.

Harmor is also great. Don't forget their vocoder too. That's excellent.

Does Harmless actually a "light" version of Harmor? How do they sound compared to each other? i know they have many similarities, even the GUI is very similar.

As i don't have any tool for mastering, maybe i'll get myself Maximus.

I recommend SliceX & Edison. I absolutely love both for chopping up samples. Super easy to do and fast!

All their plugins are pretty damn great to be honest. Just wish IL would modernize their DAW a bit. That mixer has to go!

I'm torn between Harmor and Sytrus. If I get one it'll probably be Harmor because Oatmeal can come almost close to some of Sytrus' functionality, but with only 2 oscillators.

Do you mean the NFR policy?

If we will be realistic for a moment, and take Harmor as an example,
It's better to buy it NFR now for 45$, then to buy it full price (149$) and later sell it for, say, 70$.
You can hate their policy as much as you want, but at the end of the day, this specific End of the world sale is quite fantastic.

Very underrated!
I have BLUE, Sytrus, Octopus and FM8 and I like them in that order (Blue Sytrus is a tie for me)
Actually BLUE and Sytrus are both underrated big time!

I Really Hope Sytrus gets a 64 reincarnation.
Too powerful to be left behind.

No, I mean that you end up getting what amounts to a temporary "registry key" and after six months or so you need to go to their website to get another. At least that is what has happened with my PAID FOR copy of Directwave. And I was not informed of this little bit of info before I paid for Directwave.

It is may considered opinion that if I buy a piece of software from a vendor that I am entitled to use it from that day forward with the original key I got with my purchase - and without any further dealings with that vendor should I choose.

That copy protection scheme ensures that I won't even look at a demo from Image-Line, Fruity Loops.

Which Image-Line plugins would you get? (end of the world sale)
