+1 for a Linux version. I thought it was crossplatform. Great software!

edit: here is an list with neat SFZ tools:

Hope Plogue/the other contributors will release more sounds for Sforzando.

It's a good sfz player, but the control panel for the bundled content really makes it special :tu:

It doesn't support the "output" opcode? Right? Or maybe i'm doing something wrong...

Soooo much easier to use than LinuxSampler, and soooo much more stable than sfz. TY!
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Its implemented in the Aria Engine itself, but the extra outputs are not rerouted to the sforzando plugin outputs, only to "internal proc graph" which is not open. I need to hook that up in an update.

THANKS! It looks amazing, i look forward to checking it out soon.

Its great that you are supporting this open standard! I am fed up with seeing so many kontakt only instruments, having a quality free player like this (esp with x64 support) will hopefully encourage more developers to release SFZ :)

Quick question, hope it hasn't been covered already... does this support round robin? Is there a list of SFZ codes it does and does not support?

I would *REALLY* like to see a portable version, ie .DLL (and accompanying files if needed) only for the VST! A lot of people don't like to run a .exe for many good reasons.

Fingers crossed for the multiple outputs in an update :D

I think that all truly SFZ compatible sample players should support the whole format with all instructions.

Ay caramba !

I just thought... SFZ plays direct from WAV, a really nice upgrade would be to be able to play direct from FLAC as well!

The FLAC decoder is free/open source and uses hardly any resources. It would be great for sample library developers as they could sell their online instruments in FLAC and save bandwidth :)

The Free Sounds Vol1 bank only has FLACs

But you can't just drag a FLAC into the interface, like you can for WAV. But Its in the TODO list,

This is only the SFZ 1.0 spec. Aria supports 98% of all that,
http://ariaengine.com/forums/index.php? ... des#Item_6 And next version will close the gap significantly.

Its important to know that various versions of SFZ.dll and Dimension have opcode discrepancies and limitations as well, and i know because of some pretty intensive A/B comparison for each opcode I had to do over the years between ARIA/SFZ.dll/DP.

Though SFZ 1.0 is something SFZ 2.0 more than doubles the number of opcodes, and ARIA has a great track record there as well, on top of Custom opcodes that fill some gaps in 2.0 that we call "ARIA Extensions".

+1

There are errors in the HT.sfz file of CR-909. All MT_TUNE and MT_DECAY should be changed to HT_TUNE and HT_DECAY.

Does it show sample names in the piano roll?

You can see the name of the last sample triggered on the Info tab of sforzando when you load a bare SFZ.

Making a portable version would mean locking a particular build of ARIA engine inside a separate DLL, which would lead to major support issues for us.

Oops, thanks for spotting this! Will update the SFZ for the next release/update
