How to apply downloaded VST plug-ins

Hello I am a new user to Mu-lab and music production software and am completely unaware on how to use downloaded VST plug-ins in this program. I am also a mac user if that makes a difference on the process. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
