MDynamic EQ - pre purchase questions

OMG!! I just heard about Melda Productions from another thread and watched your intro and DynamicEQ youtube vids and was BLOWN AWAY!! Seems like an amazing piece of software!! GREAT JOB MELDA!!!

Ok, so I'm comparing the free MEQ vs the DynamicEQ, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference I can tell between an unlocked MEqualizer and the MDynamicEQ is the ability to apply dynamics (i.e. compression & expansion) to the bands, right? If so, and given that an actual multi-band compressor can do a similar function, do you find this feature useful in an EQ and worth the price? I guess its such a unique idea to me, a dynamic EQ, that I do not yet know how and why to use it! Hopefully you can give me some tips.

Also, I find it kind of odd to me that you can unlock ALL the pro versions of their free plugins for half the cost of the regular dynamic EQ alone?

Thanks in advance for any opinions you can share on this product. I cant believe I never heard of MeldaProductions before! Your plugin functionality is SUPURB. The ability to switch between 8 different presets (A-H) is EXTREMELY useful, not to mention all your routing abilities (i.e. midi side, L/R, etc). Simply great design!! WELL DONE!! All you need to add is some way to undo your functions like in Fabfilter or izotope plugins, and you would have it ALL!

BTW, how often do you guys have sales? In fact, it was your Christmas Sale that got me really into your plugins. Its not to say your plugins are priced well at regular prices, but at these deals its actually in a price area where I can say "well, I dont NEED another EQ plugin, but Melda seem like good chaps and make interesting products, I'll give this one a go!"

Anyway, keep up the great work!!

p.s. I'm finding that the scroll wheel functionality for zooming to be VERY buggy on my system (mac using a magic mouse). Is this a bug in the demo only? Will have to test it out with another mouse to see if its a problem with the apple magic mouse specifically.

First to the scrolling - magic mouse is really a crazy thing from what I heard, but can you explain exactly what is the problem?

To the differences - first of all, it's absolutely not true that a multiband dynamics processor can do the same thing. Versatile multiband processor such as MMultiBandDynamics can do lots of things you cannot achieve any other way, but these are usually very surgical operations and only very skilled engineers can actually tweak them. MDynamicEq on the other hand is extremely easy to use making things like de-essing a piece of cake. Also since it is not based on crossovers, the audio results are actually quite different (including small variating phase shifts, which many find good sounding especially for otherwise static sounds). MDynamicEq also has per-band side-chain routing, per-band M/S, transfer shapes etc. And the cherry on the top are the filters used in MDynamicEq and MAutoDynamicEq, which are just amazing and I dare to say there is nothing like that in any other competition equalizer . All in all, MDynamicEq is just way better than MEqualizer (and most other eqs on the market, if not all...)

And about the deals - so far we did discounts about 3-4x a year, but hopefully there will be more of them with the new forthcoming website. These will be more specific though.

LGK_Dude: it's also worth noting the excellent support provided by Vojtech to his plugs, both from a technical and user perspective (it's worth a scan through this forum to see). I've been a customer for a while now and never once been disapponted, he continues to add innovative and useful improvements.
