So I just bought Sugar Bytes Cyclops, I installed into my C:\Program Files(x86)\VST folder where all my other vst files are, but its the only one not showing up in Ableton. However, it is showing up in another daw I have called Mixcraft. And it is also working as a standalone program. But I really want to use it in Ableton.

I've tried unistalling and reinstalling, rescanning my vst folder, restarting my pc, copying the .dll into other folders...etc but all to no avail.

How can I fix this problem?

Hi,

most probably you are using the 64bit plugin which is not supported by Live.
Please install again, choose the 32bit and the 64bit plugin.
The installer should show you the path for the 32bit file (leading to x86),
so you can make sure its going to the right location,

Hi, its definitely the 32bit version I installed into the x86 folder.

Is there anything else you can suggest?

Sorry to bump this thread, but did you ever manage to get it sorted?

I too have just tried running Cyclop in Ableton version 8.2, with no success both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

All my other VST plugins are found but this one doesn't show up on the plugin list.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom.

After double checking that you installed the 32 bit version into the right location.
go to Live's setting->file/folder and uncheck and check 'use custom VST folder' in order to force a full VST rescan.

Thank you for the reply.

I have 100% installed the 32 bit version into the correct place. I have also tried the on/off to rescan routine but still no luck!

I have had a play around on the stand alone version of Cyclop and I was really looking forward to using this in Ableton.

Thanks,
Tom.

This really works.
I suggest to deinstall cyclop. Then search for Cyclop.dll and remove by hand if there.
Then install the 32 vresion again. Make sure that the Cyclop.dll is in the correct folder (your other plugin dll's should be in the same folder).
Then force the rescan.

Hey thanks again for the help.

This suggestion worked! Thanks a lot for the suggestion :)

What caused this to happen? was the 32 bit version being over written by the 64 bit version or something along those lines?

Thanks,
Tom.

Well there is no good reason.
If you install 32bit and force the rescan in live it should always work.
The main problem is that on a 64 bit system you would think to install the 64 bit version but live still wants 32 bit.

happy new year!

I have the same problem on cubase... dont know how to rescan the vst plug in there and where do i need to instaal the 64 bit and the 32 bit version. Someone has a solution?

Post

First you need to know whether you are running Cubase in 32 or 64 bit.
Then you'll have to install the related VST flavor flavor of Cyclops.
In Cubase go to Devices->Plugin-Information.
check that the 2.x path matches the one you have choose upon Cyclop installation.
And then make a rescan.
If you still have problems please contact us via email and give us some more information like OS, Cubase version.
