Hi,
The Kawai EX Pro's upper keys (starting G5) play with loose sustain, that is notes play until end even when releasing the key before sample end. It is ok for other (lower) notes.
Is this intended for this piano and/or a setting for adding realism (as these notes sound less bright) ?

That is how pianos are mechanically. The notes starting at G5 have no release samples here, so there's no way to shorten the release. Added that the room it was recorded in was fairly big, the verb on even the close mics adds length to the notes. The player and rim have a bigger impact from the room as the mics are further away from the strings. HTH, Shep
