Oh boy, another VA synth. This time from Waves!

This has gotten bad even for an interwebz thread. We'll call it the Sinfeld thread.......it's the thread about nothing (though it's funny sometimes)*
*and the great music piece a few pages back that shows what the synth can do, a rare treat in an otherwise unremarkable thread.

Try the demo and you don't have to wait for audio demos.hibidy wrote:This has gotten bad even for an interwebz thread. We'll call it the Sinfeld thread.......it's the thread about nothing (though it's funny sometimes)*

Anyway i plan to do some demos too, mostly on the first presets i tried to do myself.

now: how can I misunderstand that too?Sendy wrote:Element WAS made in Synthedit.
Oh yes, somebody told me it was initially conceived in SynthEdit, then somebody picked it up and coded.

Of course, it makes perfect sense for Waves to code an SE wrapper. I'm an idiot for not realizing that before.ENV1 wrote:If youre asking my opinion: Unless they managed to make some sort of shell/wrapper that allows 32bit plugins to run on 64bit systems and SE plugins to run on both Win and Mac its probably not a SE plugin. Both is supposedly possible though, so technically it could be SE after all. Since i cant check, i cant know. Thats all i can say.

Context helps.

I almost gave up on the Element demo due to the confusing Waves download/activation process.
I'm really glad I gave it a try though. I was surprised to find Element has a really great sound. I would say it's like Sylenth but smoother. The UI is nice and clear and the excellent standard presets cover all the bases. You can very quickly find a suitable sound and tweak it to satisfaction. I'm also a fan of the mini arp/seq.
Yes $200 is way too expensive, but I'm sure Waves will keep offering decent discounts at regular intervals. Interesting to see how they develop it, and whether they'll introduce more of their expertise in the fx section.

The sad thing is that the cracked Element may actually be xoxos's plug-in.

Is that the best you can do?Uncle E wrote: Of course, it makes perfect sense for Waves to code an SE wrapper. I'm an idiot for not realizing that before.
Throwing idiot smilies at me as if i had claimed that they DID do that when even the most braindead person can see that i said that to make it clear that i DO NOT know what they did or didnt do?
Pretty bad show man. Pretty bad show.
In case you havent noticed: All i did was passing along a piece of info. Whatever you do with this info is your business, you can take it, leave it, question it, do whatever you want with it. But it does not give you the right to approach me in such a disrespectful manner.

This synth is quite interesting... it's nothing special on paper - even boring and just barely average - but in reality the sound is ear-cacthy (is that a word?), raw and crispy character with nice movement going on. I like the oldish GUI with faded colors. Presets are good.
I don't need more damn VAs but.. aaargh.. not again.. okey, done, next VA please..

Update: earlier in this thread, I wrote that Waves had not responded to an inquiry regarding One Knob-Louder.
Well today they have written me to let me know they have issued it to my account, so I will try and download it when I get home.
I will check the activation process and make sure the Elements issue I spoke of earlier hasn't been rectified as well - I hope so. If not, maybe I just need to be a bit more persistent.
Good going Waves...

I directed the idiot emoticon at myself, right after I wrote "I'm an idiot for not realizing that before." Watch, I'm going to do it again and this time I'm calling myself an idiot for using the idiot emoticon.ENV1 wrote:Is that the best you can do?Uncle E wrote: Of course, it makes perfect sense for Waves to code an SE wrapper. I promise you that I never have and never will direct an idiot emoticon at you or anyone else but myself.
