Though I still think you will find a use for Shimmer. But, if you'll only buy one now, VintageVerb would cover most (if not all) of your needs. Plus, as Sean mentioned, it has the easiest layout, so you're more likely to shape the reverb to your tastes. Really, you can't go wrong with that one IMO.
:D
thanks a lot BDeep, but do you maybe have one/some tips for achieving those nice reverb sounds in the song examples? :)

please maybe someone can help me or even Sean, imma repay with purchasing :D

i got some request where i could produce some examples and hear myself how i like it, i definitely want to purchase 1 or more products but not at the same time i want to hear the differences.

for the following maybe you guys can tell me which plugin i should take and why and which settings to achieve:

1.
the fire crackling reverb right at the beginning

2.
the same track but the piano sound at 1:35 mins

3. (last one! 3 are more than enough, i hope not too much asked :( )
the sounds in the background right at the beginning starting at 2-3 seconds.

im curious about replies :).
no one? i got the funds ready :D
Example 1: ValhallaVintageVerb or ValhallaRoom. It sounds like a small space, and might actually be recorded room ambience.

Example 2: ValhallaÜberMod. This sounds like a modulated echo, as opposed to a reverb.

Example 3: ValhallaVintageVerb.

but it seems vintageverb is a good start ;), is it comparable to CSR Room? i guess it will be better than CSR Room ;).

the Valhalla reverbs are all great and they all sound very different. for 150 dollars you get a great palette of tools and support a very talented developer.

i got vintage verb, ubermod and shimmer now :).

now i wanna try out your recommendations about how to achieve those reverbs in the examples.

Eos for eventide type plates and superhall for the lexicon halls, I then use shimmerverb for the pitch shifting and massive cavern type ambient spaces, love the pitch sound, reminds me of the hardware from the late 80's to early 90's like the noise off of star trek 4 with whale seeking UFO alien noises which destroy the earth, very retro but in a very special way. I see shimmerverb as a must have on its own because its like it has preserved a sound straight from the Era and has done it immaculately but it can only be used for special reverb types, not your average go to bread and butter 1. For me I would have to get vintage one as I have demoed and the sounds are getting better and better, have to say didnt expect it but its rather like those old yamaha reverbs from the 90's too. I lost a hardware version what I think was an RV100 but it sounds just like in software form, these software developers these days are getting too clever, they all should be rounded up and forced to work for nothing but bread and jam and give their work away for free. At least thats what I think, I shall try it as a survey question and see what people have to say about it.

found it, this was the exact model

not as much as I first thought but still a great little hardware box none the less which I gave away for free because I had just bought reason 1 and with the herald of software didnt quite recognize how much better the hardware version was because of all the hype at the time and shitty sound card and ended up giving it away to a local church for free :bang: :nutter: :dog:  :help: :nutter: :smack:

"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Which have you guys found yourself using the most on vocals?

VVV for me, but UberMod gets more use than you might think.
