Hi, first, thank you! 
Now to the CPU usage - it's the GUI probably, well, that's Mac... We can manually lower the framerate, but then some of other Mac users would scream it has too slow response
...
And the freezing - is there a way to simulate this? If it happens again, please try to think of what you did recently. I'll check it out, but these things are were hard to figure out, especially since the log doesn't really contain much useful information.
