Hi guys,
I need to purchase and install vanguard onto my Receptor 2 Pro but it is no longer offered on Plugorama.com. Can anyone tell me if I can install this? Does it install via the un-suported plugins route? Just want to make sure before I shell out for it.

Thanks

Hi there thanks for reply, I know where to buy it but would just like confirmation that it installs on the Receptor. It used to be offered as a plugin on the official Muse plug in page, 'Plugorama' so that you could download a Receptorised install for Vanguard. It is no longer on that page so would just like confirmation that it installs ok by dropping it in the unsupported installation folder on the Receptor . . .

Thanks

#UPDATE

I have received a reply from Muse research regarding this matter. Officially ReFX have pulled their suport for the Receptor which is why a Receptorised install is no longer provided for Vanguard. With permission from ReFX I can obtain the install from Muse Research which is now what I am persuing. I will update further when this is progressed.

ReFX refuse to offer the approval I require to allow Muse Research to give me the Vanguard installation file and Muse Research insist there is nothing more I can do to resolve this . . . except sell my Rececptor and install Mainstage 2 on my bands Macbook Pro. That's what I did and I can say I'm so glad I did. Much prettier visual design and very stable and easy to use. Now feels like I have no more obstacles :-)

ps Anyone interested in a Muse Receptor 2 Pro + complete with Komplete 6 and a 2U shockmount flightcase let me know. Only thing that's missing is Vanguard :-P

Glad you like Mainstage 2. It's not exactly comparable to a Receptor in terms of form factor and its ability to run many plugs simultaneously without hiccups. However, it does kick the Receptor's butt in terms of MIDI mapping. I don't need the shiny GUI as much as I need easy control surface mapping to plugin parameters. It's possible the 2.0OS remedies this, but I don't have an upgrade path at the moment.

That said, you could have at least tried dropping the .exe in the "Drop Installers Here" folder and running it. The worst I've had happen is that the plugin crashes the host, in which case I don't use it. For other plugins maybe the GUI doesn't work (in a sort of crippling, totally non-usable way) or the patch browser doesn't work, in which case I have to use another program to export the FXPs I want and import to the Receptor.

It does not. :(

That is very true the control mapping is superb! I am currently running Vanguard, Massive, Absynthe, FM8 and a built in piano plugin simultaneously and am not having any issues. Will soon find out when I test it even more I guess! We use a Safire sound card with the macbook Pro so there are no problems with latency and the midi input through the sound card to the laptop is seemless. I did ask Plugorama support about dropping Vanguard .exe in the installations folder on my Receptor but they insisted on getting permission from ReFX to install the program. It's a shame as I loved my Receptor as a unique standalone solution. There were bugs using Kontakt too which kept causing it to crash. This got better with release 2.0 but not completely solved. Unfortunately I just had too many isues in the end which for a predominantly live performance unit wasn't good enough. It made sence to me to move to mainstage as we already had the hardware for it to work so all I had to do was purchase the $29 app and try it out. . . And it's endorsed by Nine Inch Nails :D
