In terms of CPU usage it equals 99% to Sylenth, even if it can be far more complex even at Oscillator level...

About sound quality: What I like best with MUX, is the fact that it is really hard to make it sound bad... no matter, what I try I always come up with sounds, which I like...
Second: This example was made with MUX V1... meanwhile there is a public beta/pre release of the new version (which jumps to version number 5 to match version number of it's big brother MuLab), in which the developer further optimized the filter algorythm...

Everybody should try the demo.... this is perhaps the most underrated product of the last few years...

Another hint: I am not a very good sound designer and I am sure, that someone with more programming skills than me can match the sound of Sylenth even more...

And I'd say while with some sounds you can replace Sylenth1, overall no synth I've used is anything like it in terms of it's snappy and sharp quality.
Even if you are right with your guess of no. 2... in terms of "snappiness": the MUX beats Sylenth by far... this is a very responsive, snappy and punchy soundengine ...

And due it's modular engine, the possibilities are endless...

Tell me, which one is Sylenth and which one is the copy:

They sound quite different to me. Think the first one is Sylenth1. It has a more structured, organized sound, and the resonance is very specific.
Than you should definetely have a closer look at the MUX!!!!

The second example is Sylenth 8)
Omg, i thought and still think the first had more bite, it sounds awesome, lots of respect for MUX now.

I second this. ...
That's really not true...
Of course every synth has a special sound because of the algorythms used ...............

.........
Just this, you're right. Btw if you think that its enough to replicate the structure of a synthesizer to get the same exact sound, then every synthedit stock synth replicating their structure would sound like a Model D or an Odyssey. Ime its by far not enough, its just the tiny emerged part of the iceberg. ( Though eventually mandatory, I agree with that part )

This is the sound of Sylenth, maybe you can match it with your Silencio instrument. If you can, it will certainly be good news for all MuLab users.

I would like to recreate the lead sound in this clip. It was a regular stock preset that was included with Sylenth1:

All synths were Sylenth1 in this, and Battery for drums.

I think I made this song in 2009 or so, back when I had Sylenth1.

My SilenCio patch not only tries to recreate the signal path... the internal sound engine sounds very very close to Sylenth too...
And please don't get fooled by it's simple interface or the fact, that it is quite unknown and reasonable priced... this is a huge sound monster!!!

I would like to recreate your sounds/demo, but I am not good enough to do this by ear...

Choose some patches from your sound bank and I will try to recreate them...

I often tried and I personally found the results always very satisfying...
Nevertheless every synth has it's own little secrets... i.e. it's very hard (if not impossible) to absolutely recreate the sound of Sylenth internal distortion effect...

As I said, this is the most underrated plugin I ever tried...
Dunno, what the developer did, but this thing sounds very very good and for 49,-€ it's an absolutely bargain for what you get...

And what I like most: You can place and process the sound by VST plugins nearly in the complete signal path... no boundaries anymore :-)

Just a general statement in which direction this thread has turned:

1. I am not part of MuTools, just absolutely convinced about the quality of this product...

2. I don't want to state here, that MUX sounds 100% the same like Sylenth1...
My previous sound example and future once shall only proove, that this product plays easily in the same league regarding the sound quality

3. If you like to demo MUX or MuLab, make sure that you'll use the new pre-release versions as they are improoved in many aspects

4. This is developed by a one man company and he does a really good job... take a look into his sub forum here at kvr and you'll get an idea about what I am talking about...

Give that guy a chance to impress you!!!! You'll don't get dissapointed... he is worth every single penny and it makes me very sad to see how he gets ignored here...

I think nobody mentioned Massive ;) IMO it's this time the most used synth for EDM/Trance etc. I saw in a video that Infected Mushroom used it most of the time in a track (no Virus, a bit Nord Lead Modular and some other stuff).
Massive had a lot of problems in the past with bugs and instability, CPU usage was big for the machines we had this time. This has changed. Massive is very stable, CPU power has increased a lot.

It sounds surprisingly good! The second example has all these bumps and imperfections I've never noticed with Sylenth before.

I must admit that i also wondered whether there was some sort of modulation laid on the osc pitch or anything. In the end these imperfections are what makes it sound richer though.

I'm demoing MUX right now and i have to say, this synth is one of the best sounding synths that iv'e heard, no joking. This is a highly capable synth.
Problem is i'm not really into modular stuff, but i think that even just the Silencio module alone can keep you busy for a very long time.

Is there an option to change Silencio? I mean, i really prefer an interface without tabs or sub-windows, so is there a way to make the filter module for example, to be part of the main GUI of Silencio instead of opening in another mini window?

Last question, how do i assign the LFO destination?

That's a problem as I don't have Sylenth1 anymore, but if the demo version has all the same presets that the full one does...I could download it and hopefully figure out which one it is.

There is one preset I made back then, and I had uploaded it into the KVR presets section (should still show up under my Examigan screen name I guess), it sounds real cool, at least I think it does anyway

It's a simple lead sound but I liked it:

https://soundcloud.com/examigan/the-passage

It's at about 2:09 in the link above. Lots of Sylenth1 was used for that song, plus a bit of Wusikstation and Soniksytnth2.

Nice sounds Trancit! The MuTools MUX is indeed an incredible piece of software, once you get "into" it
