In amongst this collection of Diva demos (@ ~33 secs) there's an attempt at "Everybody Needs a 303".

Successful? (no, not really  )
where are these presets from? very nice
+1

There's a lot cool stuff in there!

They're my own humble efforts.

A patchbank is available for a modest consideration, or you could try looking in the Mr Wobble folder in the THIRD PARTY patches. ;)

On u-he.com or in KVR's patch area? Is it just more or are DIVA patches not available in KVR's patch area?

Post

Look in the THIRD PARTY section in Diva's patch directory.

I found your Tyrell patches but didn't find any DIVA patches from you:

Nothing to do with the patchlib.

LOL! Thanks. :)

I voted for the Oberheim OB-X, not that I know what I'm doing, but because that OB-X PRO VST is only Windows and that pisses me off.

:)

I would prefer prophet but Id be happy with OBX also. I have the OP-X as well as an OB8 and although OP-X is a great plugin and package - its not quite the same level as Diva.

I know it might be highly impertinent of me to ask - but I was wondering if there was any final decision on this or how long it might take?

IIRC, the last time Urs gave his view he was leaning towards a 303 filter.

But don't hold your breath - additional filters or oscillators won't happen any time soon.

We're evaluating an attempt to OB-X filters. It's all nice and juicy, but it's really not that far off from the 12dB multimode filter, sound-wise. The mere difference is in the choice of OTA chips (CA3080 rather than IR3109) and the clipping in the feedback path. They're basically indistinguishable at low resonance settings. The other difference is, of course, Oberheim's SEM/OB-X filter doesn't go into self oscillation while Roland's Jupiter-6 and Alpha Juno filters do. Which I guess is merely a choice of parameter design rather than a limitation of the circuit (not sure).

If we manage to get it right, and if we decide to go there, then we'll probably have it for Musikmesse.

Post

That said, the 303 filter would be my first choice, but it would take too long to implement before Musikmesse...

but some other Osc? Or was it just filters...

There's an idea for another osc model, but that'll have to wait until everything else settles... after all we needed at least half a year longer than we thought for our big update, and before that we needed another half a year to get other things done.

On the positive side once we're done with all that tedious work we can concentrate on the creative side (apart from maybe looking into AAX, *gulp*). Can't wait to get there :-)
