Uhmm, yes, I agree with that one. Probably the key point on EVE are the extrem quality it outputs, I would deeply evolve every single part to get at its own excelence. Another one is that the "Degrade" control on the Echo unit doesn't go "gritty" enough to sound "vintage" and so having a more percebable clean - dirty balance.

On the second envelope for the filter issue my impression is that it could decrase performance and that's bad. I feel it could be good but not so important, since the second envelope helped to add new sound characteristics to 3-wave-forms synths, something that we don't need to worry on EVE since there is plenty of wave forms to choose from on the several soundsets.

But, well, let me add a new small, small feature: navigating on the soundset backwards by clicking on its name tag (just under the picture) with the right-mouse-click. We are capable to navigate through the sound set by left-clicking on such name. The previous soundsets were more "contained" but the last ones are huge and navigating through the sound set much slower. If we are capable to advance to the next wave form by left-mousebutton-clicking why not navigating to the previos by right-mousebutton-clicking?

Best regards.

Another feature I'd like to see is an lfo added for filter freq.

ok folks EVE is next to an update release,

surely there will be:

- directory choice for EVE Data folder,
this seemed to be a very usefull feature to add,
you'll can put "EVE Data" anywhere

- limiter on output, one on main output with on..off

- improved Degrade in Tape delay,

maybe better Velocity control too.

All that in about two weeks.

About filters, I see the point of many users,
but let me tell the story of EVE.

When I started the EVE concept it was all about
having an easy setup for old vintage layers,
the time when musician didn't use synths with VCF,
as choice or for they didn't exist yet,

at that time great music where made layering
EPs, Rhodes etc..., with Strings machines
and other presetted keyboard, like Mellotron,

song and soundtrack makers
who didn't use no resonant filter sweeps,

just there were EQ, vibrato, tremolo
and external effects for flanger,
echo, rotary and few others,

EVE was meant to bring back that limited but
still powerfull way of using vintage keyboards,

with the meaning that sometimes less is more
when it comes to creativity.

Later an LP filter was added to EVE with the only use
to make EPs and pads more expressive.

Now I think that the lack of a VCF module
still can force the sound designers to new creative solutions
combining the many soundSets in the 3 A B C layers and their
9 LFOs,

at the same time it is possible to add more filter functions to EVE,
for the users who need that, the idea is to switch the EQ section to
a VCF section with Cutoff, Resonance and Mod Depth,

but as I said I prefer to work on the other features update first.

Good stuff. Cant wait. 8)

Liqih,
I like your vision for EVE, even if I was one of the voices asking about the possibility of more complete filtering. Looking forward to the next EVE update, and the BITR sounsets, and the high quality one... wow, such a palette of sounds coming my way.

good idea...that would certainly work fine for me. :)

Yeah I agree. The EQ doesnt really work as well as I would like. I pretty much only use it when a frequency is peaking too much and distorting the sound. A VCF instead would be awsome.

agreed. the eq is somewhat useful, but a vcf would be much, much better.

liqih, these are very good development ideas. i especially like the thought of replacing the eq section with three new controls (rather than just adding more knobs). i'm looking forward to the update and higher quality soundsets :)

Hi

Real basic one here, but without it I get finger cramp!

Please put a preset name and selector on the GUI - its a pain having to click to the menu, then click on the preset list!

Flipper.

which host do you use Fipper?

thanks

I'm in no hurry for filter to be added. If all layers pass through a single filter than the effect will not be true to the origin. If you truly layer a Jupiter, string machine and Moog they each have a filter. But, if you give each layer a seperate filter then you add a lot of CPU overhead. Neither option is really desirable and I would prefer to keep CPU efficiency.
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Rabid, each layer already has a LP filter. You weren't aware of this? The current issue is whether a seperate env and velo sens controls, etc, should be available for this filter.

agree with original flipper. preset selection is tedious.
