A new MuLab 4.5.2 app patch is available in http://www.mutools.com/mulab/app-patch/

What's changed since M4.5.1:
  • Fixed a bug when loading/upgrading MuLab 3 session files.
  • Improved "Upgrade Sessions" function.
  • Added "Upgrade MUX Presets" function.
  • When audio files don't match the audio engine samplerate, they're resampled automatically without question alert.
Installation:
  • Make sure you have installed M4.5.1.
  • Download the app patch for your platform.
  • Extract the new app file and copy it into your M4.5.1 folder, replacing the previous Mulab.exe / Mulab.app.

This update is made for smoothing the transition from MuLab 4 to MuLab 5, especially via the "Upgrade Sessions" and "Upgrade MUX Presets" functions.

From time to time the MuLab code is cleaned up in order to keep it light and fresh towards future developments. The price is that MuLab can only load sessions saved with the previous main version. For example MuLab 5 can only load sessions saved with MuLab 4.2.0 and up. But you don't loose anything of course as you can upgrade (= load+save it again) your sessions so to be up to date with the newest versions. There also is an easy function to do so for all your sessions in 1 go, called "Upgrade Sessions".

So if you have older sessions (saved with <M4.2.0) that you want to open in MuLab 5, you can now use MuLab 4.5.2 to easily upgrade these sessions in 1 go and so these sessions can then be directly opened in MuLab 5.

To be complete: You could do the same upgrade with M4.5.1 but the "Upgrade Sessions" function in this new M4.5.2 is more comfortable.

In fact you don't have to bother too much about all this as MuLab will inform you in detail when necessary.

Many thanks for this. I was having much grief updating some older tunes to test in Mulab 5.

Thanks for this!
I have hundreds of older MUX patches that don't load in M5.
You saved me a lot of time converting :)

To avoid confusion: Compatibility with legacy sessions and presets will never be broken! Also with previous versions of MuLab 4 and 5 you could upgrade MUX sessions and presets in bulk, but the "Upgrade Presets" function was a bit more hidden. Now both functions are easily accessible and much more friendly to use.

Hello,
I need to upgrade MUX (instruments) from M4 to M5,
but I have only M4.5.1 version.

How can I find the M4.5.2 (there's no more patch on www.mutools.com) ?

Thanks for help !

There was a legacy link somewhere. I thought I saw it on MuTools site but can't find it if it was there. Perhaps it should be?

There's a link for patch:
http://www.mutools.com/mulab/app-patch/

but there's no more M4.5.2 patch here...?

The app-patch folder is only for the latest main MuLab i.e. M5 in this case. Currently there is no separate app-patch as the latest package M5.0.39 included some changes in the graphics and library folders.

Legacy versions are at http://www.mutools.com/mulab/legacy-versions/

Ok thanks !

And Thanks too for M5 - Once again a great evolution, without change what makes Mulab a different soft - I'm user for Luna, still fan!
