Hi,
Is it possible to have the browser stay in the foreground whenever the host has the focus? When I open the browser and click on my host, the browser goes in the back.
Cheers!

thats just it: if you dock the mux browser to the mux ui deep editor, then switch focus to your host... presumably the mux ui goes behind the host (or perhaps the browser goes behind the mux ui)? the request is an option to make the browser stay 'always on top' of the host (or at least the mux ui deep editor)?

The window that a VST lives in is created, owned and managed by the host. The VST doesn't even get a handle to it, as far as I remember from when I played around with writing a VST plugin. So this would need to be a feature request to the host author, not for MUX. (You can see this if you compare the VST-holding windows across different hosts: they look different.)
Um, sub-windows, I think are handled the same...

Thanks to all for the response. Mux vst over here!
However if open the deep editor, this creates another window but it always stays in the foreground. Am I missing something?
Also, if I dock the browser window, it is nowhere to be found. Not in the plugin itself or the deep editor.
Thanks!

I was kind of hoping to get an answer from Jo also about the docked mode in mux.

There is no docked mode yet for the browser in Mux Vst. The next version of Mux Vst will not show that menu option. Of course being able to dock it (and other kind of windows) is on the wishlist.

Ok thank you for answering this. (that was fast!) The 1st question was about the dock not being able to be stay in the foreground all the time. The deep editor however does stays in the foreground. Is this being considered?
I know you are very busy, however this clears my mind a bit as I use mux a lot and really love it.
Cheers!

Yes i'll check whether more window flexibility is possible, but can't promise anything.paradiddle wrote:Ok thank you for answering this. (that was fast!)
