Are you talking about LFO's? or MSEG's? or?

I've been working on this...

For Dub, the main problem is setting a good (well timed) rate on a controller... one that sits on the beat right... for LFO based Wub, my fav control is the mod wheel, as it has two hard places and a few shades in between. I can use a nearby knob to summon the wub-wubs, after-touch works too. Kinda depend on which you prefer.

You'll need to use the ModMatrix to dial in the limits on mapping the X/Y, or the Mod-wheel. VERY handy stuff!

With the rate set in two places (slow-fast... 8triplets-16triplets, what ever), and a third knob to control the amount of LFO... Dub can occur.

The thing is, Dub-step DJs use a 16-pad set up and have a few notes fast, a few slow, another that dips... usually by sampling each pad... and they just work that pad set.

This immediacy, hard snapping from one sound to the next, is somewhat awkward to pull off on most controllers... even the Zebra X/Y is more "sweep" oriented... you can try a tablet running ToughOSC for the sudden transitions but the gated LFO sync makes this tough.

The gated LFO sync is sadly configured so that one can indeed sweep through the gated timings, but only ALL of them (1:1-1:64, all the dotted, all the triplets)... thus making it difficult to find one that works (like instantaneously finding a number in a phone book... too many numbers).

Ungated LFO is a little simpler, you just feel your way.

One can use the DAW to grab each CC mod if only for sequencing--albeit with some fuss. But live playing requires a fairly well equipped controller, you need options for this I feel... short of sampling semi-random dial settings.

Again, the mod wheel is a handy choice... with aftertouch, even better. With those two, one can bring in a note, use after touch (or a knob) to "wub" it, snap up the mod wheel to get that 'machine gun" speed.

HIT THE DECK!! :D
