Got a nice pad in there, a nicely worn out DX-piano, a PWM example (using 2 oscillators, one inverted and both phase modulated in opposite directions), an example for cheap formant stuff, The Startled Filter and some bazilliar basses - one of which showing how to fake some extra juicy resonance sweeping the Res waveforms.
Any chance i can get my hands on those presets Urs posted in 2009 :help:

I think those are included in the download now, should be under a dozen patches(?)

I installed the latest Bazille release (0.6) but no presets.
Downloaded Brontoscorpio's infection bank and they work.
Apart from that i only have a initialize.h2p and a midi programs folder.

Tried a reinstallation a couple of times but no luck :?

I will roll with Bronto's pack for now and find out how this thing works, thanks!!

Thanks pdxindy, downloading as we speak.
Was curious about Urs patches though

I was wondering if the new Bazille will have a new VST number as well, just in case I might like to keep the older version around. Will this be the case? You see, I fea change and don't mind in the slightest if there is a big hole where the effects would normally be. Or is this one I've got now going to begin melting on New Year's Eve or something. If not, I think I wouldn't mind having both old and new. I have both releases of Tyrell, V1 and V2, if only because I love its sound, often double it, and totally love several of the awesome skins that creative u-he users have designed for us.

What say you?

Cheers!

Those things only ever happen to users of illegal copies of u-he software. And of course since you would never use such software it's something you've never encountered or have to worry yourself about.

The current version is a public alpha and expires at some point (end of year?)

The beta stops working at the end of the year, just like the last beta ended last year ..

Did you just accuse him of using cracked u-he software?

Yup, that's because Bazille is in alpha/beta and isn't freeware.

Did you notice in the OP's post the two things he/she "fears"? One wonders why he/she "fears" these problems and how he/she even knows about them in the first place.

1. melting gui
2. a "hole" in the effects section

Feel free to Google those problems in regards to Zebra2 and you'll find a whole lot of posts on shady sites complaining about Zebra2 not working "anymore". I'll leave the rest as an exercise for the reader.

In short, I'm skeptical.

I asked an honest and sincere question, and I am immediately answered rudely in a disgusting way -- even accused of using software illegally. You know, after 40 years as a professional musician I can assure you that real musicians do not behave like the respondent did. The few who come into the business with attitudes like that seem to disappear pretty fast.

This Bazille. Since it was a pita in the first place finding the download, then, since the u-he patch page was new to me and required help to locate, since no one has said a word on the future price, it GUI look, what features exactly, and on and on, I'd be better off running it through my file shredder I suppose, and not waste another minute. I liked it as it was, understated, bits missing demure army green. No problem. There are only 7000 other sftsynths in this glutted and often overpriced market. It's really a shame, though. I didn't even know it was an alpha but had read odd remarks.

This falls in with a few other evolving thoughts I've had regarding this whole synth business. The new Waves 'Element', practicall all the Arturia (I like that Oberheim!), the new Z3TA+2 -- the top synths are now being priced at right around $100 USD, and this will be my requirement from now on. Of course, I can make exceptions, but Diva is like a beautiful but drunken lady. She cannot control her consumption, and I know she never will. She has other baggage, too, as everyone knows. Now, eveyone owns Zebra. I'm hearing entirely too much of this synth, owned by every tom, dick, and dick. Sorry, I'm no lemming, either. I have other incredible sounds to find -- and happily, I know where they are. Besides, if I get all entangled with u-he, then I may have a question and need to end up here. As, you can see, that won't work at all. I have trolls for lunch and relish putting miscreants in their proper place. It's a hearty stress reliever after a long session or sweaty gig.

What a predicament but so glad I've hit upon this before much longer. I promise, I will keep my ZebraCM, Tyrell, like that little cheesy comb synth, too. Still considering ACE for its sound, novelty and price, but that might be best put aside until everyone gets their acts a little more together here. I'm finding the betas quite annoying lately, and the lack of clear information and schedules does not suit my type of work flow, shall we say. And now this -- the sort of abuse you often find in other KVR threads is obviously at home here, and that will cost you, I'm afraid. You know, I tell everyone if I've had a bad restaurant meal. Not that I'm such a tattle tale, but more that I make damn sure others don't have to tolerate second-rate treatment or crap from anywhere. For starters, I post music news items and so on, you see.

Well, now some would despair in this situation, but I count it a blessing. It has shaped a choice and direction for me. Seeing that more synths that sound the best to me are more and more at that $100 limit, I think that, roughly, should be the most anyone will get away with charging, if not now then very soon. And this will be my new limit. No charge for forum abuse I trust?

SO . . . rather nice knowing you, Urs and Co. I think I ought to grab the Z3TA this time 'round. I'm just dying to see what they've done with the new edition they have released! All the Best, etc., and so forth.

Cheers!

z3ta+ 2 is soundwise pretty much the same as z3ta+ 1 (patches from z3ta+ 1 sound exactly the same in z3ta+ 2), the only new features are the improved arp, re-ordering of effects, bigger GUI, and a few other things. Nothing THAT exciting.

Bazille, on the other hand, is much more exciting (sounding) to me. Definitely worth a shot learning it through and through! :)

Hey EvilDragon, how's it going?

Bazille, well, I can't find a solid word on its future. I'm not going to bother learning a synth, especially Bazille with not even a manual! if someone doesn't buck up and straighten this mess out. An awful lot of disorganisation around here it seems. I'm really shocked to run into the kind of disgusting behavior that is PRECISELY why no one with any intelligence will go to, for example, the Music Theory forums here. I just spent the last day or so of my free time really trying to get round KVR here and see what's going on. There are several locations/threads that are haunted by total losers. The admins need to call pest control in, as there's just no excuse for this. I've found some threads where you can't even ask a serious question without some wetting themselves. What a freakin' disgrace. The forum part of this place isn't indespensible and, it must be told, neither is u-he 'stuff'.

Oh, and I'm aware of Z3TA. Some nice improvements to the layout, some better presets or more perhaps, and a few other careful tweaks. The first thing that caught my eye was keeping it to $99 from now on. In any case, my former enthusiasm for u-he has been falling like a stone lately. Down, down the list they go! Only been here a few times and already I need a vacation. Outta here for good measure!

Good luck to you... and there is lots of great music to be made with synths that cost less than $100. Myself, I am glad that the u-he big guns (Zebra and Diva) cost more than $100. I would like to see them continue to cost $150-200. I hope Bazille is in that range too. You see, it takes real effort and skill to develop the very best stuff and to keep pushing the envelop (pun intended). I am happy to pay for the quality and innovation u-he provides.
