Diva Amp Hold possible?

Hi all,
I was wondering if Diva has already, or if it's possible to setup an amp envelope "Hold" knob, similar to the one on the MS-20?
For tweaking certain sounds while recording straight to audio, this would be really useful to free up a hand for knob turning. I'd say it would be a sufficiently "analogue" feature if there's not already to set a note hold like this up within the synth.

You've still got 8 days. Plenty of time to add before the 10 year anniversary!

I've given this some thought. I think I remember that we deliberately decided not to do it because it would make stepping through presets a bit of a nightmare. Likewise, opening a project saved in hold mode would immediately start making noise.
However, we somehow managed to get it done in Repro-1, without much of an issue.
So I'm happy to reevaluate our decision. But I'll ask this:
Can you name 4-5 polyphonic synthesizer plug-ins that have a hold/latch mode? I would like to look at how others have resolved these issues, and I'd maybe contact their developers and ask them about their experience.

Surge XT has it as one of play modes.
It makes the patch monophonic (of course).
Nobody ever objected.

vital has a button called "Hold" in it's amp ENV1
but...it doesn't hold... (no idea what it does...)
(ps-edited: found it: same as in alchemy: holds at max sustain level before decay)
korg ms20 has a hold in the main EG (as mentioned by the OP)
even polyphonically
audiodamage quanta
there the sustain can be up to 10sec long
makes sense imho, since it's a granular player
NI massive x
bevore decay (as in vital or alchemy) and also
after decay/sustain like the ms20
the newly updated FKFX KrishnaSynthLegacy
alesis ion/micron has a sustain-time/hold mode iirc
but...it doesn't hold... (no idea what it does...)

I admit that i dont know about other plugins. When i play live i use a RHodes with a Synth. (Prophet Rev2 mainly). I recently discovered DIva and i fell in love with it , i now want to use it in live with Mainstage. But on some tunes, i need the hold button so i can use my 2 hands to play the Rhodes. If i had 3 hands it would be ok , but people would look at me strangely , so i need the Hold button , it would really help me in live

Is there a reason why you can't use a sustain pedal to hold those notes in Diva?

When you flip through presets, when you hit one with Hold mode enabled, do they produce sound without further user interaction?EvilDragon wrote: Thu Mar 02, 2023 12:15 am Surge XT has it as one of play modes. It makes the patch monophonic (of course).

Likewise, when you open a previously saved project, does it produce audio without further user interaction?

Yes and yes. We haven't ever received a support inquiry about this!Urs wrote: Thu Mar 02, 2023 9:30 amWhen you flip through presets, when you hit one with Hold mode enabled, do they produce sound without further user interaction?

Granted, Surge probably doesn't have as large of a userbase as u-he does...

Not much to go by, but here's github download statistics for all the various Surge XT artifacts...
