I don't drop a VST on the track area as their is a big + sign now... which would seem to indicate I should use that. Plus it's kind of a long stretch if you have a 24" or 27" monitor to drag and drop clear across the screen, no? So with the + sign I click it, select an instrument track, load it... then I have to drag my mouse all the way down to the bottom (right) of the screen to name the track AND rack... which is what I want to do. Seems a little bit of screen travelling, but that's just me.

You could also right-click the track target module icon, that gives the context menu for that target module. (the rack context menu in this case) There you'll find the module's rename function.

Hey... didn't know that was in there, or I missed it since there are 2 context dialogs in the track area. Which I use all the time because I like to color my tracks based on the composition and the "type" of track it is... That does what I'm looking for without having to travel too far.
I have to say I love the MuClips and Rack presets because I like to load a VST with a specific bank sometimes, so I can have Vanguard for instance, with a bank I use for arps say. But with screen size, sometimes drag and drop is a little bit of an exercise... so sometimes I just hit the + sign. I've been trying to use MuClips and Rack presets to expedite some stuff, but sometimes I forget and do the most expedient. Which is why some of this stuf pops up... and makes me go
Hmmmm...

You could also turn up the sensitivity on your mouse. I move my mouse an inch and it travels the screen
. Maybe not that extreme but it does help when dealing with large screen areas

Er, with a 24" screen that would be understood... I've ben a graphic designer for 20 years, so I'm used to dragging stuff around all day long, but I still try and adapt methods that are either faster, or more effective. Just a work habit.
