Can Mulab use 24 bit samples?

I was trying to use some 24 bit kick samples and when I tried to add the into mudrum, sampla, etc.. it wouldn't load. If Mulab can't load 24 bit samples does anyone know a good workaround or way to mass convert them to 16 bit?

Edit: It's currently an unsupported version of the wave file format.

I re-exported one in Audacity and it works fine. What do you mean an ID of -2? I'm curious to know what that means

See https://ccrma.stanford.edu/courses/422/ ... aveFormat/
In this case the 3rd green field (AudioFormat) is -2 which is currently an unsupported version of the wave file format.

Oh cool! So the file fmt is claiming to be compressed when the actual file should not be correct? Or is this WAY over my head and I have no idea what I just read

Ok did some more research and i was first mistaken so i corrected my previous posts on this. Those wave files use a special version of the wave file format which currently is not yet supported. Short-term solution is to convert the wave files to a readable format version.

Do you know of any way to mass-convert them? I don't really feel like putting a multi-hour day of re-exporting 500 samples.

I don't know such free tool out of my head, i would have to google for it too.
I've taken note to R&D supporting that kind of wave files too, though i can't give an ETA on it yet.

FFmpeg seems to read them happily - try batch converting to FLAC and back to WAV (or WAV to WAV if you can convince it to). MuLab seemed happy with the result when I tried one.

The free Wavosaur audio editor offers a batch conversion. Those kick samples you pointed at converted in less than a minute. In Wavosaur use Batch Processing and select "Convert to Wav".dakkra wrote:Do you know of any way to mass-convert them? I don't really feel like putting a multi-hour day of re-exporting 500 samples.
The converted files are recognized by Mulab.
