Forgive me is this is a basic question

I am trying to record a track in MuLab. You would think that would be one of the most basic things that you would try to do.

Doesn't work.

I can hear my entry banging away....

But nothing shows up....

Anyone has any suggestions why?

The manual says to right click on the little quaver sign which is now you do midi entry, as opposed to audio entry, but all I get from that is a choice for

Count Down and
Midi Entry grid.

You need to (left) click on it to stop it being red (disabled).

there is a 'record audio' template that comes with mulab. open it,from 'session'>'open template' menu, hit record and it should work.

Thanks, this wasn't quite the problem but it led me to the answer.

I didn't have the record button clicked on red. I had it in my head that this was the Stop button. But the Stop is just the Play button toggled.

Thanks but I wasn't trying to record Audio, I was trying to record Midi. But I have it figured out now. Thanks though.

Funny thing my Axiom keyboard's record button on the transport controls will operate this. But it's the only transport button that works.

I think the Axiom will output ASCI commands which means maybe I can map them to MuLab shortcuts if I can figure out better how to configure the Axiom.

You can map MIDI to shortcuts also. I have that used on my nano Kontrol
