Hmm. Ok, a completely unrelated question, then. If I decide to visit the Musikmesse, should I bring you guys some loaner TB-303s? ;)
Please do!
You will be on the Musikmesse? Cool, what stand?
Hall 5.1 C58 - right behind Steinberg.
Cool, we will drop by and say hi to the u-he team! :D
Cool! :D
Everybody who drops by: Please tell me your KvR names. Would be cool to meet you all in person and have a face to who's writing here. :)

303 is certainly a great candidate.

SID osc might be interesting because of the combination waveforms and general awkwardness.

Electric guitars have a similar effect on me sometimes. Can someone please tell Keith Richards to use something else before the Rolling Stones do their next tour or album, just for a change? ;)

lol, I was sick of the 303 about 3 measures into the first dance track I ever heard.

I voted for the Synthex, but my heart is yearning for the Sequential Prophet VS!

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

I had that with pretty much *all* instruments and sounds used in any pop song from the 80s, already at about 3 quarters of a measure into the song. ;) Not to mention the fashion and haircuts... For me, genres such as thrash metal were essential in surviving the onslaught of Bad Pop® and the rise of MTV (where stars did not need much musical talent anymore, as long as they came up with a completely revamped lifestyle for every new album). That may certainly have damaged my acquired taste irreversibly. ;)

The VS would be my first choice for new oscillators. Maybe all four of them, with an intergrated vector envelope. I know it's not analog, but Urs did say that one of the upcoming modules was 'blasphemous', so maybe it will happen.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

I went backwards instead of forwards. I couldn't stand the sound of the thrash metal guitars that sounded like it was all recorded with the mic stuffed in a big metal trash can.

So, Fusion Jazz + listening my way through the jazz roots of the Fusion bands, + Psychadelic Rock (Gong etc..) got me through the 80s... barely.

iconic featureset? Integrated Stylophone.
Hoping for Arp 2500/2600, Buchla 259, Prophet VS, or PPG/Wave.

Its amazing how many still don't think DIVA is a complete offering. It already goes farther than the average softynth, and when you use it along with other softsynths like Synthex and OP-X you get most of what people are asking for.

I don't think anyone is saying it isn't complete. IMO all we are saying is that the modular approach lends itself to adding more module flavors. It also seems that Urs is agreeable to that.

I'm keeping some of my vintage monos, but with DIVA I don't have to sell myself to buy a JP8, Voyetra 8, OBXa, or other expensive monsters, because DIVA allows me to mix and match synth components of a polyphonic instrument, much like my voice-limited analog modular gear. DIVA fills a gap in my studio. Synthex & OP-X are fixed architecture synths. I think I share a desire for new synth components in DIVA, just as Euro modular enthusiasts are always on the lookout for new amazing modules. I can't speak for others, but I don't think I'm alone.

Yep, analog mono is staying .. DIVA/Zebra and others are filling the poly gap for now.

Oh HELL YEAH.

I don't know if I could tell you of a single sound that could bore me. It's the way they're used that can bore me :hihi:
