You can't do that in the original IIRC so Clemens did whatever we decided at the coffee table the other night. Maybe it syncs, and then maybe it doesn't. Or it meets somewhere inbetween. Maybe he can chime in on that.

(or maybe it yet needs to be dicided next week)

(or maybe Musikmesse is a field study to find out)

(And maybe there was too much liquor in the coffee. Or maybe not enough. I think we do need a field study at MM. ;) )

How could you tell?

(I did have a caffé corretto tonight - and a bit more of the Grappa thereafter)

Great news for summer and lovely GUI render...my heart jumped, thought it was an u-he Hardware release ... snizzled-me-frizzle lol.

Will Satin be available as a public beta before May, or is the May release going to be the public beta?

Hard to say at the moment...

We'll be officially releasing our maintenance update right after Musikmesse. The amount of feedback and support determines the amount of time we have to work on things. Often we've been paralysed for two or three weeks after a new release, normally less so during an update. But as we update everything... dunno.

The good news is that Satin is almost feature complete and its tape-specific features have been tested extensively. We might only need a short beta run on this.

The Bazille additions (have I listed them anywhere yet?) have only ever existed on my own machine, and I yet have to finish the user interface. Some stuff like the actual modules in the effects section are still pending. The additions are taken from ACE mostly, while the effects will probably come from Diva. Hence there won't be too much testing needed - we're using reliable material.

Diva's additions need some more fine tuning, I think the new filter is currently only tuned at 44 kHz in all quality modes. With the oscillator it's always mostly a question like "does less aliasing destroy the original character?". Again, the user interface is preliminary at this point, but it won't be too difficult to finish before Messe.

Both Bazille and Diva update are scheduled for later releases also because we would like to add more factory presets (well, Bazille's factory bank is quite sparse atm). Those can only be created after the plug itself is finished.

I wished we had one more month before Messe, then I think we could present final versions.

It is true that the BAZILLE effects box is currently empty.

What are your thoughts about how Diva's effects fit with the character of Bazille? Don't get me wrong, Diva's effects are very good... I'm just thinking that Uhbik-S' frequency shifter might be a better fit than Diva's rotary speaker. I also think that Bazille would benefit from a built in pitch shifter like Grain Dad. Perhaps that isn't practical but at least I'm not asking about audio-rate modulation of delay times and effect parameters. :hihi:

...or am I?

How about having switchable aliasing for the new JP8k osc? I do think that aliasing bears a strong character in that machine.

Yes, my thoughts too. It'll probably be a mix of those. Pity we don't have a kick-ass distortion/overdrive yet...

Well, speaking of the entire range of u-he products, I'd say Runciter can be used for some very nice effects in that general direction? Perhaps you can spin off a little 'Citestep' module from it to use in other plug-ins?

But I certainly agree, I'd absolutely love to hear u-he's take on kick-ass distortion / overdrive (as I have mentioned here the other day too), as there aren't many plug-ins in that category that I really like (some notable exceptions: UAD Moog MMF and SoundToys Decapitator). Especially in the category of 'native, no DSP hardware nor dongle required', there seems to be a lot of room left in the market - most distortion / overdrive lean (too) heavily towards use on guitar, and as such focus (too much, or even exclusively) on the mid frequencies.
