For no apparent reasons, lately I have white noise bursts when I load samplers (Kontakt, ezDrummer, Superior Drummer, Independence, Engine, EWQL Play...etc). Those didn't happen before, as in before vs 5.
Those are not the latency crackles or related to a specific sampler. I guess is something related to memory usage.

It sounds more likely that you've exceeded the limits for either the Free or XT version. Check the website: http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... sions.html

Post

I have UL license, so this shouldn't be the case.

Post

do you only have those bursts when you open the sampler or also continiously when it's open?

because i have a noise burst, whenever i open dcam synth squad....

Post

Sorry, I wasn't thinking, sorohanro! I really should know you have a UL!

OK. Multicore was introduced with M5. That's a possibility as a cause. Try switching to single core and seeing if it stops?

Those are all memory intensive sampler VSTs, right? Just in case: you've not been running the 32bit instead of the 64bit by accident, have you?

Hmm... Nothing else springs to mind... I understand the multicore change affected things to do with efficiency but I don't know how that would affect memory allocation in VSTs...

Post

Hm, have you tried reducing the number of cores used by Mulab to 1? Does that make any difference?
White noise bursts like when using an unregistered version of a plugin? Is it periodical, like every 15 secs or so?

Post

Usually those noise bursts are from the plugins themselves not the DAW... I've had a number of plugs do that over the years in Logic and Cubase. Have to find out which ones though.

Seems to be a constant ting, lately even without plugins opened.

I will try this.

Many of the effects I use are 32 bit only, so, I'm forced to use that for now.

Seems to be pretty random, sometimes even from empty racks or just on Master rack.

Thought so, but then I opened the plugins in FL Studio and had no noise, then I opened MuLab, loaded the plugins and muted the channels and still had the noise.

Thanks guys for the answers, I'll try to narrow down he problem and come back.

Post

Ok, this starts to bother me already. I have some songs to finish and my ears are ripped by this noise burst.

The noise moves randomly from racks.
Whatever I do with the volume of the tracks or master fader, the bursts keep appearing from random racks and sometimes elude the master track giving me a FULL VOLUME NOISE BURST from nowhere. :help:

And it's there on mixdown, too?

Post

yep... there is on mixdown too :(

Are you sure you have entered your Mulab license key correctly? We were sent new keys a little while ago. Maybe you only think you are using UL :D

Post

Checked that twice, it seems ok, even inserted the user key now and got the "confirmation screen" again, then closed MuLab, opened it again and... had noise :(

Post

Hm, really odd. Unfortunately I do not have any of your samplers, so I can't check.
Does it happen with normal synths such as Charlatan as well?

I find it strange that you said lately even with so and so, as if Mulab were changing all by itself :) I guess that can be ruled out. If it is a Mulab bug, it will behave the same all the time.

You are probably not the only one using those samplers on Mulab. Others should have reported something similar by now.

Have you tried changing the sample rate of the audio engine?

Post

Today I inserted the key again, got the confirmation screen, closed MuLab, then opened a project and had no noises for about 2-3 hours. Then I opened another project and the noises started again.
