Extreme sample converter is brilliant, but is in need of an update.
Wlod is hopefully still working on it.
Someone must still be operating the site/dealing with problematic downloads etc.
Don't count on it.

It's very possible that it is a dead site. Know anybody who has purchased a license recently? Even that whole process can be automated (and probably is).

Anybody know any alternative for the VSTi sampling part?

ImageLine DirectWave can load and resample VST plugins.
Great if you use them in a chainer with effects, you can create interesting samples sets soooooooo easily.
I used to use it to rip sounds from demo versions, before I owned every VST on the planet lol

Agreed, but it really sucks when dev's abandon communication. :?

Well do we even know for a fact that he is alive and well?

A ghost page can survive surprisingly long on it's own even if the owner is not any more capable of sustaining it.

Wow... so it's been so long now and nothing at all. I've emailed Wlod a few times within the last few months to no avail as well. I was actually wondering if anyone else who has it knows if the latest version of EXSC works well with Windows 8 64bit or with Windows 7 64bit? I'm nearing the point of upgrading my PC finally and I've enjoyed using EXSC for my sound needs, but I asked Wlod about Windows 7 and 8 64bit compatibility with EXSC but no reply. Any help is greatly appreciated with this question.

Cool, thank you all for the feedback. I'm glad it seems to work well on Windows 8 64bit. I've been fearing it not working on any newer platforms due to no recent updates of it, but your posts definitely helped out. I appreciate it! Glad to know I'll still be able to make my soundfonts on a newer PC with it. lol, thanks again!

Too bad that there isn't a real new alternative to such great software.
Give me samples. More samples!

Chicken Systems?

We're (I work for Chicken) always here when others come and go. First year doing sampler stuff: 1988. First year with a software program: 1996.

Translator has autosampling in it now (which is one of the things people liked about ESC) and supports many more formats than ESC ever did. It's also easier to use IMHO - others have disagree, but hey, it's my opinion.

Look, I'm sure this thread won't be any different than others on KVR - "buggy, guys a jerk, etc.". I don't agree, never have. You can always call us up and actually talk to us, 320-235-9798, we are happy to listen and banter, and do whatever you say (within reason!).

If there's anything you liked in ESC that you want to see in a updated program that works on Windows And Mac - that you can get today, just contact us, and we'll do it immediately if it's not already in Translator. And it'll work perfectly to your satisfaction. And maybe we'll cut you a deal on the price.

(Note: I don't mean to hijack a thread, just responding to BBFG.)
