They are two seperate sentences with different remarks hence they are two seperate paragraphs. If they were the second was about the first I would have posted them as one paragraph.
Really is that so difficult?
I'm starting to see DiGiT's pov!

What is your point? I have said nothing that supports your view, regardless which sentence or paragraph you mean. Thus saying this or that was exactly your point after quoting me makes no sense. Our statements just don't match ...

Really, sometimes I do wonder on peoples intelligence!
Ok, here we go, I'll spell it out for you as you aren't keeping up very well:
1. You pointed out it was not a con being 4tracks in free version.
2. I said 'how many should there be then? 8, 16, 32?'
3. You then said the same thing pretty much, so I said 'that's my point'
4. All along I've said it's a subjective point of view anyway.
5. If you'd bothered to read my posts, you'd noticed that I'd said that Jo stated several times it's a test version, supporting the reason for 4 tracks being a con.
6. I also said it's a bonus if 4tracks is enough for you, because, it IS a bonus. It's a free version of a DAW to TRY, TEST, EVALUATE inorder to see if the full version is what you're after. It wasn't made to give away without any idea about making money. Do you think for one second Jo would make a free version WITHOUT making a paid for version? No, of course not. MuLab free simply would NOT exist if it weren't for the paid for version.
Hence my conclusion - if you find the free version enough for your needs it's a bonus, otherwise it is indeed a con, which was your whole arguement.
Has that sunk in? Can we now leave it please?
Seriously I don't know why I bother!
Where's DiGiT when you need him?

Point 3 is the problem. I did not say pretty much the same at all. I am a translator, I am used to and get paid for paying attention to the details of what is being said or written, unlike certain other people...
Regarding point 6: There are lots of people making free software without trying to make money from it. Just because Jo also sells his DAW doesn't mean he is not generous enough to offer a basic free version as well. Certainly Jo welcomes people being happy with the free version and buying a paid version, nobody ever said anything else. However, the free version is a full version in itself for people who don't need more. There are no annoying things that are typical of trial software, like white noise, time limit, etc.
Calling a track limitation a con is ridiculous. It is like getting a compact car and then complaining that it does not go as fast as a Ferrari
So no, I do not agree that one's view of a track limit in freeware is subjective. If it said on the website the freeware has 16 tracks, while only offering 4 once installed, that would be a con.
My IQ is in the Mensa range, so don't worry about my intelligence

Later you put:sl23 wrote:Say, 8 tracks? 16? 32? Then it becomes self defeating as a commercial product. It's free so you can try it out, not as a gift.
And you think these aren't saying the same thing? WOW! You must be some translator!fluffy wrote:If free Mulab had, say, 8 or even 16 tracks, fewer people would buy paid Mulab versions. I.e. Jo would earn less and would have to raise the prices of the paid versions in order to make ends meet. If he did that, reviewers would complain that Mulab is too expensive
You think you're the only one eligible for mensa then? And if you're 'superior' intelect can't see that it is a con to some then you're obviously not as intelligent as you think!
I even said I can see your pov about a free version NOT being a con with 4tracks. But as I said this free version wouldn't exist without the payware. But then that's something only Jo can answer.
At the end of the day, your 'disagreement' that it's a con is wrong. It's subjective, do you understand with your superior intellect what that means? It means it depends on a particular persons pov. NOT just yours!

Yes, exactly, I did not say anything supporting your "It's free so you can try it out, not as a gift."
It is simply a basic version that is enough for some people, and not enough for others. There are people using the free version who will never upgrade and never planned to do.
Actually, the very fact that MuTools also offers paid versions makes the con argument even less justified. If there was only the free version and no paid versions, and if that free version had only 4 tracks, then one might consider it a con as people would have no choice but to pick the 4-track version.
Plus, if you see things from your perspective and consider it a trial version then I ask you which ambitious musician looking for a 32- or infinite track DAW will consider a 4-track limit in the trial version a con? They would know about the bigger paid versions and only be interested in how those tracks work, what they offer, etc. - regardless of the number of tracks there are in the free version.
For all those reasons I do not agree at all that this is a subjective matter, calling the limit a con is outright wrong and unjustified to me, no matter what one considers the free version to be.
Your references to my intelligence are odd, it was you who brought it up in the first place when emulating your abusive buddy Digit once you noticed I just won't buy your point of view...

What about making a poll for everyone if the 4-track-limit is a CON or not, instead of disputing for nothing?

I know he's banned.
I won't even bother to read that long msge. Can't be bothered with the tripe people come out with on here, DiGiT was actually right about that! But of course you won't see that because you're one of the perp's.
You don't need to agree it's subjective IT IS! If it wasn't the reviewer wouldn't have said it was a con!

Well, you should read it as it makes sense, which you are afraid you would have to admit...
Students should argue like that in math or physics classes when their result are wrong
It's subjective, Mr teacher!

These days many people would probably say it is a con as people are greedy and want everything for free...Tricky-Loops wrote:What about making a poll for everyone if the 4-track-limit is a CON or not, instead of disputing for nothing?

Are either of you non-native English speakers? I don't meant that as any kind of dig. Just that I think maybe this whole drama has arisen out of two different meanings of the word con. On the one hand it can mean a deception, as in the example of offering 16 tracks with an actual limit of 4. On the other, it can mean a negative, a drawback, a niggle, as in the phrase "pros and cons".

If you knew me, which you don't, you'd know truth is something I seek, I don't fear it like the rest of the populous, afraid to face what they do not understand, which tends to be most things. People don't give the time of day to the most important things in life and instead gorge themselves on self gratification. Who can blame them, that's all they know.
It's not just about greed, if it doesn't suit a purpose then that's a pro is it? Odd logic you have!
