I'm having trouble with the registration on beat.de, is there any other way to get registration/activation?V'ger wrote: If there's trouble with Aalto Solo registration or password, try using the original German page, not the translated one.
Not sure about direct links to the program even though it needs registration to work so maybe take them down for the time being Bjporter.

Hm, the only thing about Aalto is that suffers of high usage (when is not used even)
Now i can confirm that uses enough CPU.
6 instances = 50% in a Quad Core 3.2 Ghz
Time to render i guess.
Edited: I had the multithreaded option disabled, maybe i was tweaking Aalto Solo options when i got the preset bug in the early version (1.3.2 now fixed) and i forgot to check it.
Now the CPU usage is just 22% using 6 instances.
But still continues using that CPU even when is not playing.
Have a nice day

This is actually pointed out in the manual... It's 'running' all the time, much like its modular cousins.IrionDaRonin wrote: But still continues using that CPU even when is not playing.

Irion, is it easy in FL to automate the Bypass? That works for me usually

@Irion
About Aalto CM: I was saying it's in the June edition of Computer Music; the fact that the June issue appears in April it's beyond me.
I'm on C2D 2.66 Ghz with Live 9 Suite on XP SP3. 7 instances of Aalto BE plus a few native Ableton effects took the CPU to 55%.
But using the 4 voices in full version would probably allow only 2 instances.
On my system it doesn't use the CPU when is not playing.
I'm also having a problem with a preset I tweaked, saved the song and at song re-open it starts with that instance playing by itself.

Nice to here your experiment so far. Aalto is definitely a challenging beast.marks-a-whybikky wrote:.... Aalto is a bit crazy ... or like that. I don't have the right word for it ... Sometimes it has its own will and in an other moment it makes exactly what i want ....
Up to now it is better to keep the "Feedback" very low and the Gate-Level at 0.00 (when using ENV. for the gate). Then this instrument plays the notes i press on my keyboard .... and stops when i don't ...
here comes my first test. IT IS NOT a SUBMISSION for that contest! (only 20 sec.)

But I think we can use the Sequencer as synced LFO with key trigger.
The sound is extrem. Hard to make soft sounds. I am realy corious what we will here in the tracks.
