Next Sylenth version

I sincerely hope so. I'm sure it would be an amazing synth, and given the popularity of Sylenth1, I'm pretty sure the internet would be near collapse the day it's released

and hope we'd see it before the next millenium...
am giving up; i continue to use S1 (32bit plug in logic, ugh), because: a. i love it, and b. i have amassed an insane library for it. also c. i love it.
but will let it go, if logic every goes 64bit only; at some point, we move on, or fall behind....

Stupid question: Why don't you just use Sylenth then?Yorrrrrr wrote:I've already demoed several of the top ones (Massive, Zebra 2, ANA, Dune, Diva, ACE, SynthMaster, Predator, Thor inside Reason, etc...). None of them have the simplicity and sound quality of Sylenth1, in my ears of course
I'm sure there are pretty killer VSTs out there, but it's just a matter of taste in sound and simplicity department.
It allows me make my sounds fast and good sounding, no need to spend lots of time "sound designing" with complex, monster synths (I already have one that I consider to be amazingly complex and capable, Image Line Harmor, but yet I prefer Sylenth1 for day to day producing routines). Sylenth1 is such a popular and succesful synth because it was kept "simple" and it sounds wonderful, a killer combination.

To answer your stupid question: Yes! I DO use Sylenth1 every single day. Major flaws, no...I don't see them ATM. I certainly DO take Sylenth1 as it is, and that is why I LOVE it and USE it. BUT that does not mean that there are certain features that would be very nice to add, on an update to an already awesome synth. A product like this deserves to be developed further.chk071 wrote: Stupid question: Why don't you just use Sylenth then?Honestly, if there are no major flaws, or unless you're on a Mac with a 64-bit host, is there anything you'd be missing? I mean, it is well known now that the dev is not the most responsive guy in the world, maybe time to accept the fact and just take the product as it is.
Excuse me, but I discovered Sylenth1 just recently, and I didn't know that Lennard guy was not responsive. That's a shame. But still, looking forward to a future S1 update AND other Lennar Digital products as well, because I'm not talking just about Sylenth1.

don't hold your breath; the last update was 2009. am doubtful we'll ever see a 64bit AU for mac (doubtful, but hopeful LOL)...Yorrrrrr wrote: Excuse me, but I discovered Sylenth1 just recently, and I didn't know that Lennard guy was not responsive. You're right of course, nothing wrong with that. Especially keeping in mind that he could do a good business with this, i find it strange too.Yorrrrrr wrote: To answer your stupid question: Yes! The MUX with the Module built by Trancit is, IMO, even better than Sylenth.
He did a blind (Sylenth vs MUX)test, here on KVR, and most of us went for the MUX.
And on top of it, the MUX allows you to create other Synths or effects or modulations with other VST inside of its structure.

I'm sure MUX has stuff to offer which keeps you busy for a life time, but i think Sylenth is especially so popular for its sound and it's clear user interface. Plus it doesn't offer much stuff which gets you distracted from the classic synthesis. MUX on the other hand is one beast of a synth. When i fired up the demo, i immediately got lost in it. Note that im not the kind of guy who wants to RTFM to be able to operate a synth anyway, but to me it had a more scientific approach to it than the usual VA's like Dune, Sylenth, z3ta and likes. So i doubt you will get around making yourself comfortable with it to be able to use it. But for me, MUX is like the exact opposite of what Sylenth is in terms of usablity.liquidsound wrote:The MUX with the Module built by Trancit is, IMO, even better than Sylenth.

Just tested it, and it sounds very nice, indeed! As good as S1, definitely
But yeah, as I said, the other thing why Sylenth1 is excellent, is its simplicity and usability.

Did you guys test the Trancit Module? It's as simple as it gets

I would argue that this is a sign of how capable Sylenth still is and how little needs to be changed.golemus wrote:Sylenth won MusicRadar 2013 VST-synth vote. Years after last update. We now live in a world where we expect developers to crank out updates on an annual basis, updates that we are eager to pay for with money that is burning in our pockets with flames fueled by GAS. I am guilty of this myself.
We also expect the developer to be available for discussion 24/7 and get offended if they aren't available on the forum of our chosing. How come we don't have the same expectations of the developers of other products that we use everyday: toasters, cars, computers... Tim Cook, how come you are not on this forum? I have a question for you: which is better for music making, Apple or PC?
I've been told of the old times when we went to a music store, picked up a synth, learned it inside out, embraced its quirks and limitations and called them "character". No one looked for the phone number of the synth's developer in the manual, to call him with complaints and demands for a new version in a few months.
It's surprising that Lennar has such a bad reputation here. Afterall, he is the guy who developed what is apparently a modern classic that many of us use and love.
Perhaps we should take a collective step back and rethink our expectations?
Feel free to disagree:-)

OK, you know what? I'm gonna have to call BS here. DIVA does not have the "sound quality" of Sylenth1? In terms of them not being the same, I'll give you that, but in terms of sheer QUALITY, as in 'expensive' sounding, I'm sorry, but DIVA has it going on in spades.Yorrrrrr wrote:I've already demoed several of the top ones (Massive, Zebra 2, ANA, Dune, Diva, ACE, SynthMaster, Predator, Thor inside Reason, etc...). Sylenth1 is a great synth, and I own it and have since quite a while back. But, I'm sorry, I'm going to have to agree with those who find the developers lack of any communication with his users pretty distasteful at best, and totally unacceptable at worst.
It is a great sounding synth, but it's not the be-all-end-all of DSP. It just isn't. It has it's niche, but it can never sound like anything other than what Sylenth can sound like, if that makes any sense. In other words, its filters, etc. will never, ever sound exactly like Diva's, or Omnisphere's, or most other synths you might care to name. It performs it's role quite well, and I'm glad I still have it.
To be honest though, I just don't use it all that much anymore. I guess I'm a little afraid to rely on it given the fact that we've heard nothing of substance for years now. That just doesn't sit right with me.
Oh, and these MusicRadar votes? Something like the DJ Mag 'votes' in terms of veracity. It's just too silly sometimes.
I have a lot going on in my life right now besides electronic music, and though I'd love to steer things back in that direction however I can, there's something I'm realizing the more 'outsider' perspective I get, especially as a DJ (doing a helluva lot more of that lately, having a blast with it!): with this vast democratization of electronic music making, there sure are a buncha fuckin' amateurs (say this in a Walter Sobchak voice) these days ready to jump at the chance to be someone's fanboy.
It's just so
