The VST/AU version is on its way.myconsumerclub wrote:A vst version outsells an ipad application 100 to 1.
A new update (version 1.4) is available on the App store.
Moreover, the next major update of the app (version 2.0) will be a 1:1 port of the VST.

Version 2.0 was just released and it brings major improvements to general tracking and latency. In fact the iOS version is now based upon the same technology as the upcoming Desktop/VST/AudioUnit beta version 0.7, soon to follow.

Be great if it had a transpose function so you could send out midi an octave up or down

How's it work with pianos? I still haven't had time to try it yet; hopefully this weekend.shanecgriffo wrote:and it's great.. been playing with it all morning

I tried it with the piano in thumbjam and it's usable.. I must say that I'm splitting the signal pre iPad and sending guitar to my amp and iPad to my old big-arse 70's stereo.. So I'm not just listening to the midi instrument alone.. Having the guitar there as well can mask some mis-fires and other anomalies somewhat. I also use it mainly with pad/string type sounds mostly.. It did track pretty well with the organ sounds in thumbjam and I guess because it is sample based was able to set lowest latency (which I couldn't do with addictive synth) It tracked that well on chords and pretty fast lead lines- was able to do some pretty cool jazz guitar/organ unison stuff.
Never been a big fan of midi guitar to traditional piano tho I must say, it just doesn't sound right to me no matter how good the tracking..

been working on some percussive stuff from a video lesson i got by a guy called Ben Lacy, setting an organ to play in thumbjam and it's quite interesting..
Playing percussive sounds on guitar often triggers the 'right' note thru midiguitar (the note of the fret i'm doing percussive stuff on) so the guitar thru the amp sounds mostly percussive but the organ plays notes.. interesting effect when combining/alternating this with normal playing/fretting

Any trick you can throw me as to how to get it to work? I paid for the $20 upgrade, and it does seem to track great with the test piano, but I can't get Cubasis to recognize it as a virtual midi input.bigcraigie_1 wrote:+1shanecgriffo wrote:Be great if it had a transpose function so you could send out midi an octave up or down

Can you get it going with any other apps?polaris20 wrote:Any trick you can throw me as to how to get it to work? I have MIDI guitar set to Cubasis in the Output Route and in Cubasis I have the MIDI input on the track set to Virtual MIDI. I did have problems before, but now that both apps have been updated, I'm getting no issues at all. Not sure which of the apps was causing the problem at the time though. I also open MIDI Guitar first if that makes a difference.polaris20 wrote:Any trick you can throw me as to how to get it to work? Open midi guitar first then cubasis and set it up how you want then re open midi guitar and set output to cubasis .. Should work (I don't have cubasis) if not , sometimes you have to flip back to the target app to get the sound going...

Oh cool, didn't realize it's out.. Is it as good as the hype ?polaris20 wrote:I'll have to try those tips, thanks. Though at this point my interest in this is waning, now that I've got the Fishman Triple Play.
