I finally bought Zebra. I'm really excited! However, disaster struck soon after.

I've used EnergyXT2 and MuLab, but neither of them let me type in codes into the registration window. I don't have any issues on Windows though, so thats weird. Keyboard input isn't being picked up by the plugin for some reason.

Okay, so I swear I had mentioned this issue before with Uhbik, but I can't find the post.

Any ideas? :help:

-- EDIT:

I was able to use Reaper to register.

Just register in Garageband or any other host, e.g. Reaper demo - if all fails, send us an email to support at u-he dot com and we'll make an auth file for manual authorisation

(note that we're off to Frankfurt from tomorrow though... we're still online but we can't always react within the hour)

Otoh... can you right-click into the text fields and paste? - Then you could simply copy your user name and reg code, and paste it there... this is how I paste text in plugs where cmd-v is captured by the host.

Hey Urs, on Ableton Live 9 i can't use cmd-v, i had to right click on the fields and click on paste.
I remember that we had some issues also on older Live versions and i don't remember what you said some time ago about it here on the forum..

Oh damn! I had downloaded Reaper to try that very thing and then forgot about it. Perhaps I figured since it didn't work in 2 hosts, why would it work in a third?

Can't right click either, unfortunately.

Using Reaper works though, thanks for that! Is it a bug in the other hosts?

It may be considered a bug because the AU specification does not restrict the plug-ins usage of the system's user interface toolbox. However, most plug-ins don't need all the stuff that we do, hence it's usually fine.

We might just check this out and then offer an option to "override the host's overrides". This is what we need to do in Windows too at some point, the restrictions for e.g. keyboard control that some hosts pose on plug-ins really get in our user's way.

Hmm, I was using the VST the whole time (I don't think XT even supports Audio Unit). Reaper on the other hand, *did* load the AU. Would that make any difference?

That sounds useful. Might be interesting fighting for input control though.
