Imho there is no practical way that the former (admittedly a very specific and at this point hypothetical case) can be achieved by the latter (which in general has much more interesting possibilities, but would not suffice to capture the interaction between parameters that is so characteristic for the 303).
So what does Accent in a 303 do? Please explain...
Basically: it bumps the volume and the cut-off up, depending on the accent level (which is a separate control knob on the panel), and a fixed envelope shape is used with fast attack (but perhaps slightly slower than regular notes, can't remember or check atm), and fast decay. Although regular notes and accented notes use different envelope shapes, there seems to be only a single envelope, with a single depth control that affects the envelope depth for both types of notes. The intensity of accents is also increased by previous accents, but then tops off after a bit; depending on the speed (of the sequencer, or playing notes manually if they are modded to take gate/CV input), you'd typically get three or four different levels in a rapid succession of accented notes, which makes it sound very much 'alive'. Also, when you play a non-accented note tied to an accented note, you can make the accent audible at varying levels (or completely disappear) by varying the decay amount of the previous note, again, also dependent on speed. So while it may seem that the decay control only directly affects non-accented notes, in fact it can very much affect accented notes as well.

The best way to understand what it does, probably, is to play with it yourself for a bit. Perhaps try ABL2 in demo mode for a bit; it captures it quite well.

(Somewhat related recent thread on KV here, btw.)

Your description makes sense... thx

Are you asking rsmus7 or us?

We have decided to renew the lease for the exact same stand next year. No need to make it any bigger, and the location was perfect.

I missed you all
it was very hard for me to be at work
and see all the pictures and videos from the Messe,
and not being there myself,
but I couldn't take off from work

so next year is already booked in my calender
I need to be at the booth for sure

Thanks to the u-he team for making us feel very welcome at the booth! It was nice to have a chat with some of you guys (and girl)!! And our apologies to the graphic designer/photographer for asking where the Korg stand was on Saturday and keeping you from your work!

Playing with the new Bazille and DIVA was a joy, the new digital oscillators and new filter in DIVA are simply awesome!!

That will save me at least 15 minutes to find the stand next year. :)

If only half of the plug-in developers showing up at u-he's stand would also get their own stands at least half the size of u-he, you could arguably even do with a stand half the size as well (or bring a wall of amps, too). More seriously, at the Musikmesse one might get the impression that 99% of musicians use hardware gear, and plug-ins are only a very tiny niche market. The latter may even be somewhat close to the truth... U-he being present there really shows how professional and innovative you guys are (overall, not just in the development of plug-ins). I really couldn't think of a better representation of plug-ins as part of the overall music instruments industry. Glad to hear you'll be there next year as well! :)

And the same goes for you, rsmus7! Hope to meet you next year! :) (Btw, I did snatch your cup of caffé coretto this year. :P )

Was very nice meeting you guys as well! :) +1 on loving playing with all the new stuff a bit, but you forgot to mention Satin (please don't say you didn't like it or didn't get to play with it) ?

Yeah, is was very nice to meet you too, Ch00rD!

We played a little bit with Satin and it looks/sounds promising, it's just that we are more excited for the update of DIVA and the release of Bazille!

IMPORTANT:
All further work at the u-he headquarter needed to sustain for a longer period.

... at least for an hour.

At Messe, someone must have recklessly driven a bolt by force into a truss nut that was placed in the wrong direction. Back in the studio, we tried to get it out.

... using another bolt from the inside. No way...
... using force... even worse...
... drilling it open... starts to cruble...

Image

... using more force... we're losing hope...

... drilling further... drill breaks... Urs: forget it, we still have 3 ends...
... new drill, more force.... here it comes.... yeah.... Wooohooo!!!

Indeed. But for *real* problems, still better to ask a mother for help. ;)

Btw... do I see an inflatable zebra on the couch? :D

Yeah, that I agree with. Especially the Diva update excites me, if only because it's a an excellent and free update to what is already one of my favorite plug-ins. :) But I'm very much looking forward to all other upcoming goodies as well!
