Combo Model V

Post

I have just uploaded a new beta version of Combo Model V (v1.3.0 beta1), which includes a spring-style reverb, and a Vox AC-style cab. This way you don't need any 3rd party plug-ins to get the sound. There are no reverb/cab parameters to tweak, but you can bypass them so you and use any old reverb / amp/cab plug-in you please.

Changelog:
  • Added spring reverb simulation.
  • Added guitar cabinet simulation.
  • Added changelog to NSIS installers.
  • Updated WDL/IPlug framework to libpng v1.6.1.

Thanks :)

Would it be possible to add a reverb mix knob? Maybe even replace the on/off toggle with a simple wet/dry knob.

Lovely update! :)

+1 from me ;)
I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

Thanks for your organ plugins, they are some of my all-time favorites! The additions of the latest Betas are very nice, two suggestions from me:
1) as others have said, wet/dry mix for reverb
2) maybe an alternative Fender Cab IR (e.g. Twin Reverb?)
Anyway, keep up the good work!

Your plugins are really superb! But I am not sure if it is a good idea to add fx. There are a lot of great commercial free options already. A great free all-in-one solution is Freeamp 3. It is discontinued, but you can get it here:

Oh nice, thanks.

Since I'm a fan of spring reverbs especially, could you consider adding Audio inputs to Combo V maybe, so we could use the effects also with external sources, would be cool.

I will consider it (i.e. I have already replaced the toggle switch in the GUI, and I have already partly coded the reverb mix parameter :D ).

You are welcome, and thank you for Charlatan. :)

(Or a Fender Bassman perhaps?) I will see what I can do.

I totally agree, that is why you can disable the reverb and cab. ;)

Well, the reverb actually is just an algorithmic reverb, tuned and filtered to sound (somewhat) like a Farfisa Combo Compact spring reverb. I guess I could make a seperate Combo Amp plug-in, featuring just the reverb and cab(s) from Combo Model V & F...

I have updated Combo Model V to v1.3.0 beta2.

Changes:
  • Replaced reverb on/off switch with reverb mix knob.
  • Improved silence detection when reverb is on.
  • Replaced cab on/off switch with 3-way knob.
  • Added 2nd, Fender-style cabinet.
  • Updated to latest WDL/IPlug framework.

Nice updates, thanks!

Theo's VSTi programming absolutely rocks! I hold HollowSun samples in very high regard. I think NI Vintage Organs is GREAT! But cha know wut? I'll take Martinic organs ahead of any other VSTi or sample library; I think they sound "THAT" good!

Theo (Tale) puts a lot of work, and expertise into the continuing development of these fantastic instruments. I will be reviewing them in the not-too-distant future. I encourage my fellow Martinic fans to shoot off a donation. Even if you can only afford (4) or (5) euros at a time, it will be a help and encouragement to him, I'm sure.

If 100 of us all donated 5 euros a piece, I have no doubt that it would help him a great deal. What with server costs, bandwidth, development time, modeling time, and etcetera. If it were anybody else we'd probably be gouged up and down the ying/yang to buy them.

* Ok, hippie, tree-chaining, woodstock rant over. :D

Hi,

ist it somehow possible to get the previous beta ? I don't like the reverb dry/wet knob but I want the cab sim, so I think I'll have to stay at 1.3.0 beta1

Thank you for your kind words, and for your continuing support. :)

I guess I could re-upload v1.3.0 beta1 for you, but what exactly don't you like about it? If you set the reverb mix to 0.282 (the default) you will get exactly the same sound as with the reverb switched on in v1.3.0 beta1, and 0 still turns off the reverb completely.
