What an amazing synth. I play a Farfisa Compact (red, of course), and it's the defining sound of my band. I plug it through a Fender Twin Reverb and take the separate bass output into a bass amp for some beefy low end (there's no bass player in the band).

We have a gig in Prague next week, and we were going to have to drive 15 hours from Oxford to take the organ because nothing I had tried sounded anything like the Farfisa. Back in the summer I tried the Nord Farfisa sounds, a sample set from the States and several other synths that claimed to be "the authentic sound of the Farfisa" but they all sounded terrible (the samples were good, of course, but there was no useful way to get the authentic vibrato).

I discovered Combo Model F and it saved my life (and saved us having to drive!). I just spent the weekend rehearsing with it, and apart from the occasional stuck key (almost certainly the fault of my keyboard) it worked like a charm and sounded almost identical to the real organ. I set up two instances (one for bass, one for the rest) on separate channels in Mainstage and panned them hard left and right so I could split the laptop output into two mono jacks and plug them into into the bass and guitar amps.

Sorry for the lengthy gushing post, but I'm a happy man. ;) I just happily donated, and I'll be recommending Model F to anyone who will listen...

I'm glad you like it, although I'm sure you like your red, real Farfisa better. I know I would. :D

Perhaps I should add an option to Combo Model F that sends the bass to the left channel, and the normal voices to the right channel (or the other way around?), so in the future you can run your setup with just one instance of Combo Model F?

In fact it's quite useful having the two channels because I can set up patches for certain songs with a bit of delay or extra reverb on the top end and leave the bass clean. And the plugin is so lightweight the extra instance doesn't slow anything down (admittedly I'm on quite a new MacBook Air). I could imagine situations where it would be useful though, and it would certainly be authentic (sound engineers are always surprised and impressed by the separate bass output on the real thing)!

Having 1 instead of 2 instances probably won't save any CPU cycles, but it will save you some memory (about 9 MB).

Anyway, I think could easily add the option to split bass and treble and send one to the left and the other to the right channel. Of course it will then be up to the host to route the left/right channels to different FX chains.
