Hey guys,

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the arp in Zebra play using just one Osc and have another as say just a pad? I'm trying to see how or if its doable and not having much luck.

Any idea?

Thanks

Steve

Could get something similar maybe by using an ArpMod to automate an Osc's amplitude to (off), and using different lanes to get long, tailing dynamics on the 'pad' oscillators. Alternatively, using an ArpMod to do the tuning rather than the Arp's transpose.

Seems 'close' rather than exactly as you describe, but *possibly* useful. Just what comes to mind :hihi:

You cant use the arp itself, but you could use the MSEG's for setting up arpeggio's. Use value-snap for setting up steps of 12 or 24 which you then use for setting up your notes in the sequence. And remember to set Timeunit to something useful, like 16th or 8th depending on what you want to set up.

Or, use a ModMapper with a sawtooth LFO and draw whatever steps needed:

Osc1 Tune Mod Source: ModMapper1
ModMapper1 Source: LFO1G
ModMapper1 Mode: Map Smooth
LFO1G Wave: Saw Up

wow great ideas! I'll give them a try and see what happens.

Thanks guys

I find the easiest is just to layer two instances

I think it should be Map Quantize

and one can also try the LFO waves: sine/triangle/saw down/and random hold
for the ModMapper1 Source

I made a little example patch to show how it works:

example ModMapper=arp

all you hear is just the one patch with long held notes,
3 osc's are active two are tuned via modmapper moduls,
the mix is controlled by modwheel and abuse of the pitchwheel,
just to show a bit of the possibilties

download the patch here

Nice one rsmus7, lot of possibilities in this patch :tu:

my fav line is osc3 with the FM. 8)

thank you :D

I did this patch just to show some of the possibilities
in Zebra for doing ARPs beside the arpeggiator

it could also be done via a MSEG
