Yes; it would be nice if it could avoid CPU while notes are not sounding - if that could be solved this synth would be nearly perfect - that's the only issue; a good sounding synth, nonetheless.Harthstein wrote:This synth kills my CPU![]()

I think you just need three more posts on the forum. Links will activate after that.Harthstein wrote:How can I embed the soundcloud player into my post?

Just post the link; you need 5+ forum posts first, or something like that..Harthstein wrote:How can I embed the soundcloud player into my post?

Hey guys, it's inevitable that some synths wil be CPU heavy... but I really recommend people bounce their tracks, so they have lots of room to play with. That way you can minimize crackling.
Some Performance Tips for windows:
Also PLEASE set your sample size to the highest setting eg 2048.
Download ASIO4ALL drivers and run off your motherboard's soundcard - it may be faster.
Minimize any startup programs, or things that run in the background.
Get rid of unneeded background services. Set windows to classic look, and get rid of all windows effects, shadows, clear font, etc.
Shut down your computer each time you are done instead of Sleep. Sleep can make it difficult for some programs to maintain settings before and after, and can cause instability.
Turn your graphics card performance all the way down - decrease CPU, MEMORY CPU, and increase FAN speed - that will help cool the computer.
Get rid of internet connection on your DAW, and uninstall anti-virus applications. Or use a dual boot - DAW on one partition, web stuff on another.

I'm too much of a tweaker to bounce tracks.bjporter wrote:...I really recommend people bounce their tracks, so they have lots of room to play with.

I know ...
But I try and work with it, because each synth for me brings about a new paradigm of music workflow... makes you more flexible to handle situations I guess?

Right !
So here is my attempt to make something with aalto. After too many crashes I started to use the 5 test mp3s I rendered while testing aalto, and frankensteined them together into what I posted on soundcloud.
It's not really an entry, but I would like to let you hear what I did with this thing, and some of the sounds are just amazing.
I really like aalto, but it's just too unstable on my system to spend more time on this not knowing if I can open the project tommorrow.
Host : FLStudio
I used 4 or 5 aaltos and sometimes just one and one for the kick.
Effects:
Roughrider on the kick.
Automation :
Yes, just the seq offset ( from 3 to 4 and back)
Master:
No real mastering went into this project but I used the Tls Maximizer.
Remember this is just me fiddling with aalto on 5 seperate occasions, glued together in an amateuristic way.
Have Fun !
BTW for those interested I'm healing nicely (but slowly).
Thanks for the kind words.

WAIT WAIT still got my track coming...IrionDaRonin wrote:Thanks for all submissions buddies.
I will be listening all tracks this month.
No submission from me this month, fever, FL Studio 11 installation, etc.
Let's see the next one.
Some newcomers this month, uh?
Good luck everyone and have a nice day
BTW, Irion, Musicians friend emailed me saying I'll never get Effectrix!! Isn't that crazy! I feel very much taken advantage of by Musicians Friend. Strange how they don't just keep track of who got it...
Have a good day.

They said the offer is now discontinued and Effectrix has run out... no more left. So emailed them politely hoping if anything can be done.

Hi, all!
Let me apologize for my absence of 9 months or so, but being a 43-year-old student in Mathematics became a bit more of a chore than I had anticipated!
I've been using Aalto for many months, but have been approaching it as I would my Make Noise Shared System. I like to fire up the sequencer and start twisting knobs and making patches with minimal keyboard interference. Fortunately, I was soooooo intimidated by the quality of this month's entries that I decided upon an entirely different tack (which saves your ears from my "bug music").
Thus, please consider my submission for April, the "Raga for Virtual Modular"

Loris D.S. - Submechanic Escalator
Fl Studio
7 live instances of Aalto (my CPU almost melted)
~24 sampled instances of Aalto - WARNING - ILLEGAL - One instance of aalto was bounced to audio after the effects were applied, then some of the effects below were applied again to the previously bounced audio thus mangling it beyond the capability of the synth. The total usage of that sound in the song was about 15 sec. I understand if the song is subject to disqualification however I would still like to share it.
Also I bounced my percussion to audio cuz of CPU problems, sorry I had to.
Native FL plugins: Multiband Compressor, Fruity limiter, Fruity Reverb, Stereo Shaper/Enhancer, Parametric EQ, Vocalizer (Formant Filter - non FL), Maximus.
