Wow, I'm not seeing that connection. I think that's a bit of revisionism. For this and other reasons, Aphex Twin's Windowlicker is twinned (no pun intended) to this song in my mind. Windowlicker is Feel For You's demonic flipside and taken to extremes. Both very funky tracks.
Which, of course, was completely over by the time Max Headroom became popular.
