Will satin add some analog/tape warmth to my (digital) orchestral mixes? or is it just for making some weird sound effects:-))?

The question is whether or not Satin can emulate the effect of printing tracks to a Multitrack Tape Machine.Garycactus wrote:Will satin add some analog/tape warmth to my (digital) orchestral mixes? or is it just for making some weird sound effects:-))?
Slate, UAD and CDSoundmaster have digital versions
There are several Analog hardware units with the same idea in mind
Anamod ATS-1 and Neve Portico

You all have to wait and see once it gets out :-p
Nevertheless, it doesn't mystically make a bad mix sound great or turn a lame composition into a hit song. But it does what it does. I've witnessed a great mix become a whole dimension greater and I've heard vocals jump right into my face. Satin is obviously not the only one of its kind, but it's the u-he one. Don't expect it to be easy, expect it to be deep - and rewarding to learn. Time will tell what YOU can do with it.

Thank you for the quick replies!
Yes, I had a look at some plugins on the market......
I'll wait for Satin, just because I trust U-he!

I was thinking of that... an "estimated release date" widget on our website, which automatically postpones the release with a second counter.Ch00rD wrote:May be, may be not. Idea: u-he calendar app automatically fetching updated *planned* release dates.

A simple counter would be way too boring to suit the u-he brand. It'd need at least an LFO with a period of up to a few months and an envelope generator where you can *see* (but not adjust) the release time knob moving a bit erratically.Urs wrote:I was thinking of that... an "estimated release date" widget on our website, which automatically postpones the release with a second counter.Ch00rD wrote:May be, may be not. Hm, I think a more appropriate way would be to install a web cam, pointed directly at our whiteboard. Too bad we can't see all the facepalms every time we wipe something away...Ch00rD wrote:May be, may be not. Idea: u-he calendar app automatically fetching updated *planned* release dates.

I suppose we could add an "ETA" display on the website with a "Randomize" button next to it.
